Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Each one of us must contribute to the solution of problems which we helped to create." This quote sums up the motivation for the creation of Richmond Water. We’re proud to see the recognition for Richmond Water founder Will Melton in this year’s 100 People to Meet issue for Virginia Business. This movement is about solving the growing single use plastic production problem we face locally and globally - and thanks to this community, we’re making a real dent. Days like this—where friends laugh, share, and make thoughtful choices that reflect love for each other and the world—remind us that the most beautiful moments aren’t just lived; they’re created, together. It all started in Richmond’s Arts District with brunch at Birdie’s, where the coffee was rich, the Richmond Water was cold, and a little bubbly found its way into our glasses. After soaking up the morning sun, we climbed into the electric Audi Q4 e-tron from Audi Richmond and set off across the city, embracing the effortless elegance of zero emissions. Next stop? Uptown Cheapskate, where Kendall John ensured our shopping experience was nothing short of amazing. We found stylish, preloved outfits that were ready for a new home—and with a refillable Richmond Water bottle in hand, we cruised home e-tron style, feeling lighter with every choice we made. It’s not just about what we wear or how we get there—it’s about the quiet, powerful ways we can choose better, live better, and leave the world a little brighter for ourselves and generations to come. Together, we’re making the change, and when we do it right, it feels as natural as breathing. That’s something truly worth celebrating. In anticipation of the release of a collaboration between a number of Richmond brands that embrace sustainability as a core value, we’re excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at “Girls’ Day.” Featuring Emmaline Chappell, personal stylist, Paige Poprocky, from The Richmond Experience and @SipsAndTripsWithPaige on Instagram, and Courtney Turrin, Chief Work Officer at Xponent21, “Girls’ Day” celebrates integrating sustainability into everyday life. Partners on this project include Audi Richmond and Richmond Water, and location partners included Birdie’s, which is part of Common House, and Uptown Cheapskate Commonwealth Commons. We know that guy! ??Check it out: Will Melton was in the WTVR-TV studio for a live airing of Virginia This Morning on Monday. If you’ve never been, it’s really cool. The different sets are all in the same room spread out in a big circle. Huge camera rigs with teleprompters (as you’d expect) in the middle. Most of the cameras are automated and controlled by staff in another room, but the talent, guests and a couple of staff are there to coordinate the show. A big part of our work is public awareness. We must let others know that we’re making options available to push for a more sustainable life and community. We thank you for joining us for this journey.
