Here’s some tips and lessons learned for your next social short form video for your next Instagram Reel, TikTok, Linkedin video, or YouTube Short: ? Hook fast – Grab attention in the first 3 secs ?? Keep it short – Aim for 15–60 seconds ?? Use captions – Many watch with sound off ?? Show, don’t tell – Let visuals do the talking ?? Add energy – Quick cuts, upbeat tone ?? Strong CTA – End with a clear next step ? Be real – Authenticity over perfection ?? Focus one message – Keep it simple ?? Use trends wisely – Stay relevant and on-brand ?? Optimize for mobile – Vertical fullscreen I felt really good about the content because it really was an amazing panel, audience, moderator and networking - it all came together so well. Bravo! ??AI is Transforming, Teaching, and Learning? This morning, I had the privilege of joining the ATD San Diego Chapter First Friday Roundtable Discussion in collaboration with ISPI SoCal: The Southern CA Chapter of ISPI. The session was filled with great insights and conversations with some amazing people, Anthony Markovich, Laura Coons, Thom Powell, and Sara Golden (shoutout to Vince, who I couldn’t find on LinkedIn). Today’s dialogue sparked reflections on the transformative role of AI in teaching, learning, and self-improvement, inspired by "Embracing Gen AI at Work" by H. James Wilson and Paul Daugherty. [link to full article in the comments] Here are my takeaways: ?? AI in Teaching Others One standout concept from the article is how AI supports step-by-step explanations to simplify complex ideas. I’ve personally used this feature to teach myself and others nuanced concepts, even across language barriers. For example, you can prompt AI to break down reasoning into manageable steps, making it an invaluable tool for global learning and collaboration. ?? AI in Teaching Yourself AI acts as both a tutor and collaborator, adapting to individual needs with real-time feedback. It’s been a game-changer for me in turning complex industry trends into actionable insights. The reciprocal learning aspect—where you teach AI about your context and needs—only enhances its ability to support your growth. ?? AI in Teaching Itself Here’s an often-overlooked insight: AI teaches itself! By asking it how to improve a prompt or approach a problem, you can guide it to deliver better outcomes. It’s an iterative process that builds on both human and machine intelligence, making AI a powerful co-creator. ?? The roundtable was a fantastic reminder of how AI isn’t just about automation—it’s about amplification.
