The Board of Advisors for the Richards College of Business gathered for their Fall meeting to discuss the outstanding events and accomplishments of the semester. We highlighted the launch of several initiatives, including the C-SUITE Mentorship Program, Innovations Day with Southwire, and the 10 Week Start-Up Bootcamp, which concludes with the WolfDen Business Pitch Competition in November. It was wonderful to have our Richards College Ambassadors and members of the Dean’s Council join the conversation, providing valuable insights from a student’s viewpoint. The day was filled with productive collaboration, motivating us as we work towards shaping the future of business education at UWG!

The Richards College of Business sponsored twelve graduate students to attend the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) Conference, where they networked with industry leaders, participated in workshops, and explored career opportunities, including interviews at the Career Expo with over 100 companies like Google and Ford. Additionally, the college participated in a Case Study Competition, with team members Gregory Armwood, Isaac Joseph, Kendal Sparks and Christen Copeland, supported by professor Lantz Ferrell and Philip White - CPSM, CPA (CMA), MBA. Their team, Next Level Consulting, focused on strategies to attract new African American consumers to the Jeep brand. Despite not winning first place among 24 teams, the experience was valuable, providing knowledge, connections, and improved business presentation skills. We are incredibly proud of the dedication and effort displayed by these students!

? What a day! ? Our recent collaboration with Southwire brought together students from all majors for an incredible day of creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving. ?? Students teamed up to design innovative app concepts, even if they had no tech experience—proving that fresh perspectives and collaboration spark the best ideas! ?? ?? A huge congrats to our 1st place winners and their app, "Check It" – an awesome tool that fact-checks content with a color-coded system. Green = true ?, Yellow = somewhat true ??, Red = false ?. Shoutout to all the winners and participants for their amazing work. You made us proud! ?? #InnovationInAction #Teamwork #UWG #Southwire
