30-Day Alien Registration Requirement! On January 20, 2025, President Trump issued an executive order directing DHS to enforce the long-standing alien registration requirement under INA Section 262 (8 U.S.C. 1302). Most noncitizens in the U.S. must register with the federal government, though this does not grant legal status, work authorization, or protection from removal. - Who Must Register? ?? Noncitizens 14+ who were not registered when applying for a visa and remain in the U.S. for 30+ days ?? Children under 14, registered by a parent if staying 30+ days Noncitizens turning 14 (must register within 30 days) - Who Is Already Registered? ?? Green Card holders, visa holders, paroled individuals, I-94 recipients, and EAD holders - Who Has Not Registered Yet? ?? Undocumented immigrants, certain Canadian visitors, and some applicants for benefits like DACA or TPS - Consequences for Failing to Register ?? Misdemeanor charges, fines, and immigration consequences ?? DHS has prioritized enforcement—noncitizens should comply promptly - How to Register? ?? Starting February 25, 2025, noncitizens must register online via a USCIS account ?? Parents/guardians must register children under 14 Full details in our blog! #Alienregistration #ImmigrationLaw #USCIS #DHS #ImmigrationUpdate #LegalCompliance #TPS #DACA

Can Multiple Employers Submit H-1B Registrations for You? The answer is yes—but with important conditions. Here’s what you need to know: 1) Each employer must be independent – Different employers can submit registrations, but they must be separate, legitimate job offers. 2) No duplicate registrations from related entities – USCIS tracks and rejects attempts to game the system with coordinated filings. 3) You choose your employer if selected – If multiple registrations are picked, you can decide which employer to move forward with. Benefits of Multiple H-1B Registrations: If you receive multiple job offers from different U.S. employers, having each one submit an H-1B registration does NOT increase the chances of selection in the lottery since each registration is employee-centric. However, if selected in the lottery by multiple employers, you will need to decide which job offer to accept, as you can only work for the employer that files a successful H-1B petition on your behalf. Beware of fraud: USCIS monitors for abuse, and any attempt to manipulate the system can result in disqualification. If selected, your sponsoring employer must file a complete H-1B petition, including Form I-129, a certified Labor Condition Application (LCA), and supporting documents. #H1BVisa #Immigration #USWorkVisa #H1BLottery #WorkInTheUSA #VisaSponsorship

As a second-generation immigrant, I understand the fear that recent immigration policy changes have instilled in many of my friends and family members, even those of us who are here legally. This fear not only stems from how we or our loved ones might be impacted, but also the uncertainty caused by a lack of knowledge and clarity. That’s why International Child Advancement is hosting a free "Know Your Rights" session on 3/1 in partnership with Jeremy Richards, Founding and Managing Partner at Richards and Jurusik Immigration Law, and Regine Ndanga, LMSW at Christ is the Answer Friends Church. The goal is to empower refugee and immigrant communities in Buffalo, NY by informing them of their immigration rights, obligations, and how to protect themselves and their families during these challenging times. If you’re in the Buffalo area or know someone who would benefit from this, please join us! Feel free to comment or reach out if you have any questions. Let’s come together to make sure our communities are informed and supported. ???? #KnowYourRights #ImmigrantRights #CommunitySupport #BuffaloNY #Immigration #Empowerment
