The construction delegation wrapped up the last day of their trip with a site visit in the morning to FHNW’s University of Applied Sciences and Arts and an afternoon visit at Laufbahnzentrum, the career center in Zürich. The site visits provided the group with additional visibility into the Swiss system and the transitional pathways available through the academic & professional pathways. #CEMETS #iLabIndiana cc: Richard M. This week, members of the #CEMETS #iLabIndiana Industry Committee traveled to Switzerland to learn about construction-related vocational and professional education and training (VPET) programs for high school students and adults. ? Thank you to the Swiss Contractors' Association, CAMPUS SURSEE, Feldmann Bau AG, Marti Group, University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, and biz Kanton Zürich (Berufs-, Studien- und Laufbahnberatung) for showing us how the VPET system functions and why an employer-led system is so important. ? We’re looking forward to bringing these lessons back to Indiana as we explore adding the construction industry to the new Indiana Career Apprenticeship Pathway.

This morning the #CEMETS #iLabIndiana construction delegation visited Pilatus Arena where the group had the chance to tour a high rise building & sports arena being built by Feldmann Bau AG. On Saturday, April 5, College Matters: Meeting the Moment grant recipient Indiana Latino Institute is hosting an open house to help more Hoosier students file the #FAFSA. The free event will offer FAFSA filing support in both English and Spanish.

Yesterday, members of our team got a sneak preview of Damien Center’s new facility, which is funded in part by a grant from the Fairbanks Foundation. Scheduled to open later this year, the new space will enable Damien Center to expand their services and serve more clients. Thank you to Damien Center for inviting our team into your new space!

Yesterday, members of our team had the pleasure of filming a new video featuring Marian University Indianapolis’s E.S. Witchger School of Engineering, which received a $5 million grant from the Fairbanks Foundation in 2022. ? We’re looking forward to sharing the video – and the important work the Witchger School of Engineering is doing – later this summer.
