RICH CITY Rides

RICH CITY Rides was founded in 2012 by Executive Director Najari Smith as the hub, nest, and incubator for community bicycling, providing sustainable transportation, supporting physical and mental health, and nurturing human-to-human connections. We envision Richmond becoming a world-renowned bicycling community, stewarded by bike-friendly neighborhoods and worker-run businesses, owned and operated by historically marginalized residents and families. RICH CITY Rides connects community members with Policy makers, promoting safe cycling and walking environments, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and uplifting disadvantaged communities by enhancing the livability of our city of Pride and Purpose. Our Fiscal Sponsor, Urban Tilth, is focused on creating just and equitable agriculture and food systems throughout Richmond and the surrounding areas.
