关于我们
The Master of Energy Economics is a 12‐month, full‐time professional master’s program designed to educate future leaders and strategic thinkers in the energy sector. Students develop skills to provide insightful analysis of energy markets in order to inform future market orientation, capital asset decisions and firm strategic direction. Built upon programs in the Economics Department and the Baker Institute’s Center for Energy Studies (CES), the Master of Energy Economics provides a new avenue for energy professionals to develop human capital relevant for business development and/or strategic planning roles.

“While market forces such as price, economic growth and innovation will continue to be the primary driver of energy market developments, the margins can be sculpted by shifts in both domestic and foreign policy,” Ken Medlock said. “There have been lots of strong statements, but regarding what the incoming administration may be able to actually do, uncertainty reigns supreme.”
As Donald Trump prepares to take office, Rice University experts weigh in on the potential impacts of his administration’s policies. Ken Medlock, of the Baker Institute’s Center for Energy Studies and Co-Director of Rice University's Master Of Energy Economics, highlights the uncertainty surrounding Trump’s early actions but underscores their potential to reshape global energy markets. Tony Payan, director of the Center for the U.S. and Mexico and Rice University's Master of Global Affairs faculty, anticipates challenges in U.S.-Mexico relations, from immigration and trade to drug trafficking and foreign policy shifts. Mark Jones, a political science professor, notes that Trump’s presidency is likely to align closely with Texas Republican priorities, influencing policy on border security, energy, and diversity issues. Other experts include John Diamond on economic policy, and David Satterfield on Middle East diplomacy. #RicesocSci #ShapingTheFuture For interviews, contact Rice University’s media relations team.
