Rice Global Forum extends our reach beyond Rice University at Texas A&M University to help the next generation of engineering students prepare for successful careers in engineering and construction. RGF, in partnership with the Texas A&M University College of Engineering, participated in TAMU's 2024 Annual Engineering Project Management Workshop. An enthusiastic support of RGF’s mission to openly discuss the challenges facing our industry, Dr. Ivan Damnjanovic asked RGF member company representatives to participate in A&M’s 2024 Annual Engineering Project Management Workshop. RGF member companies had the opportunity to sit on panels and engage with engineering students to discuss different phases of a career in engineering and construction. Many thanks to Ramiro Rodriguez of Worley and Dr. John Walewski of Texas A&M University for their efforts in coordinating this program with Dr. Damnjanovic. The first panel, “Young Professionals to Young Professionals, What is it like for the first seven years?”, included panelists Dalton Hines of Arion, Conner Gressett of Burns & McDonnell, Samantha Chartier of KBR, Inc., and Christopher Fleming of Wood. The next panel focused on mid-career perspectives. Panelists were Nicolas Ehringer, P.E. of Cross Engineering LLC, Gregory Krauss of ExxonMobil, and Sarah Fredrich of Worley, and Anelise Williamson of Burns & McDonnell. The final panelists of the day, Jeff Bell of Worley, David Murray, PE of Technip Energies, Arturo Palacios of Bechtel Corporation, Jeremy Flessner of Wood, and Shirin Rastegar of Bechtel Corporation, spoke on “Exploring the Business Side in Your Career Journey.” Helping students understand how to be successful as they join our industry is just one way Rice Global Forum is helping to ensure the next generation of talent is well prepared for a rewarding career.
