Tyler Sullivan is a Rice Board Fellow with CULLINAN PARK CONSERVANCY, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of Joseph S. and Lucie H. Cullinan Park. In this role, he leverages his expertise in evaluating and optimizing business processes to strengthen the conservancy's operational framework. As a former Eagle Scout, Tyler is currently redesigning the Eagle Scout Project management process at the park, ensuring it stays aligned with the park's founding principles and vision, while enhancing the value of the Eagle Scout's experience. Tyler joined the Rice Board Fellows program to contribute his skills to a non-profit organization aligned with his values, while also gaining valuable experience in board governance and expanding his professional network. In his professional career, Tyler is a Senior Manager at Oxy, where he leads the Supply Chain Governance and Compliance programs, as well as the Corporate and Staffing spend category teams. His background in risk management, developed through previous roles in consulting and internal audit, enables him to ensure that Oxy's global supply chain operations are both value-driven and risk-aware. Tyler is currently pursuing an Executive MBA from Rice Business (Class of 2025) and holds a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University. Outside of his professional endeavors, Tyler is an avid golfer and serves as the President of the Rice Business Golf Club. He is also an active member of his local CrossFit community. Together with his wife, Marie, they are visiting all 63 U.S. National Parks, having already explored 51. #ricemba #ricebiz

Both students and organizations benefit from the Board Fellows program: Organizations gain access to the ideas and energy of future business leaders with the possibility of cultivating potential new board members. MBA candidates learn valuable leadership skills from community leaders and gain experience in the nonprofit sector from “real life” non-profit management and governance.

Kate is committed to helping BAHS achieve its 2024 goals and support individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Bay Area. Kate brings a strong background in computer hardware engineering, designing microchips in the medical device industry. We’re excited to highlight Anne Santos (戴可人), a dedicated professional who brings her strategic expertise to the non-profit sector as a Rice Board Fellow for Alley Theatre. Anne serves on the board of Alley Theatre, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to producing innovative and impactful theater performances. In her role, she provides strategic guidance and oversight, leveraging her extensive experience in HR administration, research and grant administration, financial operations, compliance, and academic appointments. Her core values of integrity, positivity, responsibility, and empathy drive her contributions to the theater's mission. In addition to her work with Alley Theatre, Anne is the Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration at the Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies at Rice University. She enjoys merging her business acumen with the arts and believes in the transformative power of theater in the community. Anne is currently pursuing an Executive MBA from Rice Business (Class of 2025) and holds a BS in Hospitality Administration from Boston University and a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management from Harvard University. She is a graduate of NACUBO’s inaugural Emerging Leaders Program and engages with the Young Business Officers group to help identify, prepare, and cultivate future higher education business and finance leaders. This organization serves local community members who are restricted from obtaining hair care services due to physical impairment, lack of transportation, or financial means. Jordyn-Marie is personally moved by Have Shears Will Travel’s mission and is assisting with developing the organization’s marketing and branding strategy. As they prepare to launch the Shear Success Barber and Cosmetology Training Center in East Downtown Houston, Jordyn-Marie’s efforts will help provide affordable education and scholarships to low-income populations, including the community they currently serve, ensuring sustainable independence. With her background as a Project Manager and scientist at NASA Johnson Space Center, Jordyn-Marie brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to her role.
