Mark A. Turco, M.D., F.A.C.C., President & CEO of the R.I. Life Science Hub, was honored to join Consul General Seiichiro Takahashi of Japan along with R.I. Speaker of the House Joe Shekarchi, Senator Linda Ujifusa and Rep. Brian Kennedy, Speaker Pro Tempore and other community leaders at a luncheon to highlight the historic partnership between Japan and Rhode Island. Many topics were discussed including promoting business relations between Japan and the region, with a special focus on the life sciences.

Scientists in the lab of Michael Frank at Carney Institute for Brain Science have created a new model for working memory, showing how humans optimize this process used to juggle information in the short-term, like making a mental grocery list then going shopping.
