Cardiff Pedestrian Footbridge Upgrade – Completed! We recently upgraded the pedestrian footbridge at Cardiff, replacing the existing balustrade and handrail with a fully enclosed structure. This project came with its challenges—working with an old, non-uniform bridge, safely removing the existing handrail while maintaining edge protection, and upgrading the lighting with new fixtures and footings. Despite the complexities, our steelwork and infrastructure team successfully completed the installation over three possessions, wrapping up in WE32 (2nd & 3rd Feb). ? A huge effort from everyone involved to deliver this safely and efficiently!

A huge congratulations to our resurfacing team for winning The Steve Maxwell Platelaying Award at tonight’s Permanent Way Institution Industry Awards! This well-deserved recognition celebrates their outstanding work on the 358 and 359 Crossover Project at Bankstown. A fantastic achievement—well done, team!

This week, our dedicated QLD team came together to receive their 10-year celebration shirts—a powerful tribute to the diverse Indigenous cultures we are proud to have within our Queensland crew. Designed in-house by family members, these shirts carry deep meaning and will be worn with pride for years to come. Strengthening Our Safety Culture & Readiness for SSTOM This week our SSTOM project team came together for a team-building day—not just to strengthen our collaboration, but to reaffirm our commitment to safety and preparedness before the project ramps up. Through hands-on training on our available systems and discussions around best practices, we ensured that our team is aligned, equipped, and ready to tackle the challenges ahead safely and efficiently. The Lego challenge was a highlight with the parents in the room leading the take 5 to ensure appropriate footwear at all times to avoid a dreaded standing on lego incident. A big thank you to everyone who participated and contributed! Let’s carry this momentum forward as we push ahead on SSTOM—stronger, safer, and more organised than ever.

As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our team, clients, valued sub-contractors and partners. 2024 has been an extremely successful year for our company and we couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished together, we look forward to achieving even more together in the year ahead. Our offices will be closed from Friday, December 20th, and we’ll reopen on Monday, January 6th. Exciting Progress at the Hawksbury River Bridge Project! Rhomberg Sersa Australia is thrilled to share the latest updates on our gantry installation project. This week we successfully removed the old gantry that had long serviced repair works on the bridge. In its place, we’re introducing two new in-house designed and built gantries. The Gantries feature automated extendable wings that allows access to the full width of the bridge, increased floor area and importantly increased load carrying capacity. Transporting and installing the gantries was a feat in itself, barged to site from the Brooklyn boat ramp, the gantries were craned into position using a lifting frame designed and built by our team. A huge thank you to everyone involved in making it a success.

Santa has arrived early for the Rhomberg Sersa Australia team! Today, we were thrilled to welcome our brand-new Plasser and Theurer 09-2X 4x4 4S Dynamic, fresh off the boat and ready to deliver unparalleled performance on track in the new year. This new machine combines high production and precision. Capable of tamping plain track and turnouts in a continuous action to provide the best of both operating modes, the new machine has been designed with best practice principles in mind. What makes this machine even more impressive is its ability to operate with just a single person in both plain track and turnout modes, boosting efficiency and safety on every job. With this latest addition to our fleet, Rhomberg Sersa Australia continues to set new standards for innovation and excellence in track production and maintenance through direct investment into our equipment and people.

Today, the RKR team had a welcomed opportunity to visit Port Kembla and witness firsthand the CPU units they built for the SSTOM project in full operation! ???? It was a proud moment for all of us to see the hard work, dedication, and expertise of our talented team come to life in such a meaningful way. From the design and assembly to seeing the first unit pass commissioning seamlessly on-site, it truly demonstrated the power of collaboration and innovation. A huge thank you to Alex Taylor and everyone involved for their commitment to excellence. This milestone wouldn't have been possible without the passion and teamwork of each and every one of you. ??
