At Monday's WJAR Channel 10-NBC Media Blood Drive, we honored 7-year old Ellora, who needed blood donations to save her life during her fight against cancer. East Providence High School students Rozaria, Marley, and Marcus won gold at the SkillsUSA competition with their outstanding Health Science Pathway project, inking healthcare careers with blood drive processes and clinical experience at Tockwotton. Their teacher, Kristina Martin, was honored as Blood Drive Coordinator of the Year by RIBC, and the group's efforts have resulted in EPHS's most successful blood drive since 2014. Outside of school, their support also increased community attendance at library and local police drives by 50%! RIBC is beaming with pride as we recognize this group for their outstanding project, and for raising awareness about the vital role blood centers play in the health of our communities.
