Two Charities, One Afternoon of Giving Back held in conjunction with United Way of Greater Atlanta was the perfect energizer for Rheem employees as we spent time decorating bags with inspiring messages and then created an assembly line to stuff the bags with a book and snacks for kids! ?? Joined by our creative partners at JLL, we continued to put our artistic skills to use, and Cardz For Kidz will soon receive a box of uplifting and inspirational cards for kids across the country. ?? Rheem is proud to support these efforts through Heart of Comfort?.

This week, I had the pleasure to share the stage with industry leaders and the Department of Energy?as part of the 2024 Department of Energy (DOE) Building Technologies Office (BTO) Peer Review.?During the plenary event, highlighting Day 3 of the Peer Review, I spoke to Rheem’s progress?dramatically reducing on-site energy use intensity in buildings through adoption and scaling of cold climate heat pumps. As a leader in developing heat pumps, for both space heating and water heating, Rheem is committed to launching a line of heating, cooling and water heating products that boost a 50 percent reduction in greenhouse gas footprint for 2025.?These technologies are consistent with the DOE’s Federal Blueprint to Decarbonize Buildings to reduce on-site energy use intensity in buildings by 50% by 2050 versus a 2025 baseline. Rheem is proud of our work to validate and demonstrate our residential cold climate heat pump.?https://lnkd.in/guxteTNF?Rheem’s participation in the Cold Climate Heat Pump Challenge for residential heat pumps taught us how to optimize heat pump efficiency in cold climates without affecting the consumer experience. Vice President of Government Affairs Karen Meyers participated in a Climate Week 2024 panel discussion focused on evaluating refrigerant reclamation programs and the role effective refrigerant management plays in preventing the release of greenhouse gas refrigerant emissions. Karen described Rheem’s sustainability strategy and the elements necessary to scale refrigerant reclaim across domestic and international markets stating, “Effective and durable refrigerant reclaim policy must include the entire channel, from manufacturers, distributors and contractors.” Rheem is leading the industry by training more than 500,000 contractors since 2019 on sustainability best practices.
