A Binghamton University study assesses the benefits of in-school COVID testing to curb outbreaks! Assistant Professor Melissa Zeynep Ertem, PhD and her team analyzed data from 650,000+ students in 2,100 Massachusetts schools (2021-22) using machine learning. Findings show that test-to-stay programs were the most effective, reducing positive cases by 3% to 22%, while surveillance and pool testing had smaller impacts.
