Now that the mourning period is over, I wanted to share our thoughts on why Forward Health failed. The company’s founder once said that he wanted to replace doctors and nurses with “hardware and software” and the patients rejected it completely. Their fatal error was in the fundamental assumption behind their business model: that people could be taken out of the equation in healthcare. Our full thoughts in the comments.

Happy to be joining business, health care and policy professionals for the the 2024 St. Louis Area Business Health Coalition Annual Meeting today. Employers need to implement new and innovative solutions to tackle challenges in health care, such as high costs, unclear value and affordability. We'll be in the room with the nation’s leading voices for change in employer-sponsored health care and delve into what the election results might mean for plan sponsors.

The National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions released their latest "Pulse of the Purchaser" survey last week, and the results are striking. About three-quarters (74%) of those surveyed saying they feel healthcare costs are driving trade-offs for wage or salary increases. However, the study showed that employers engaged in innovative strategies such as value-based drug formularies and contracting directly with providers saw lower than average healthcare costs. Read our summary of the survey on our blog. https://lnkd.in/grxerH2d

It has come to our attention that there have been some bad actors using our company name to solicit personal information as part of a fraudulent hiring scam. Unfortunately, this is out of our control, but we want to make it clear that this behavior is unacceptable. One such bad actor is identifying themselves as “Rohan Lee” using the email address [email protected]. While we can’t be sure that this is the only scam operating, if you are contacted by this person, please do not respond to them. They do not work for Rezilient Health nor are they a third-party recruiter that Rezilient Health has engaged. Read more in our Job Scam Statement: https://lnkd.in/gtNbRkEM

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve closed our $10M Series A! This capital is not only a testament to the entire Rezilient team’s relentless commitment to our customers, partners, and the families we continue to serve, it also sets the foundation for growing our impact across more communities that are suffocating under the weight of the traditional U.S. healthcare industry. The round was led by Govo Venture Partners with participation from Bridge Ventures, Acorn Pacific Ventures, The Council, Jim McKelvey (Co-Founder of Block, formerly Square), Mark and Robyn Jones (Founders of Goosehead Insurance), Jeremy Friese, MD (Founder of Verata Health), and David Karandish (Founder of Answers.com). We’re going to use this capital to give more people access to quality, convenient healthcare —?regardless of where they are on the economic spectrum — by scaling the results we’ve already seen in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. Our goal from day one has been the same as it is today: flip the traditional healthcare model on its head and deliver care that centers a transparent relationship between patients and their care team, in the communities that are typically overlooked by the innovation economy. We’re building a truly tech-enabled system under one roof. Rezilient members can access all their care needs in one place: primary care, 73 types of specialty care, plus in-house labs, virtual care, and 24/7 messaging. The difference between day one and today is that hundreds of businesses have trusted us with the healthcare of their people. Find out more in our blog post: https://lnkd.in/eg-e9n2z

Embodying transparency and ethics, protecting patients from hidden costs, and creating a healthcare system that truly serves its people were the overarching themes at Health Rosetta's annual Rosettafest in Washington DC last week. The Rezilient team left with a feeling that folks like Adam Berkowitz, RHU, Laurie MacDonald, and Herb Catausan, GBA, plus many others are the driving force behind a movement that has real momentum. They're enabling employers to build better health plans that have the potential to change the lives of their people: both financially and with dramatically better health outcomes. Not only that, but those employers are seeing incredible savings that they can put back into their businesses. It's a clear win for everyone involved (except the current healthcare system ?? )

Had an incredible time at Health Rosetta’s annual Rosettafest in DC last week. This was my third year attending the conference and this year FELT different. The overarching feeling was that we as a community are finally making a dent. The momentum is rising. The employers who took the leap to build better health plans (including those that embedded high value primary care) are able to share their stories with others. It is no longer an experiment, it’s now a movement. Grateful for the opportunity to speak about our experience serving Quality Collision Group and hundreds of other employers. Grateful to meet with old friends and make new ones. The current healthcare system only serves one thing: itself. Despite spending trillions of dollars, our healthcare system has left 100 million Americans in debt. The cost of care has become a leading cause of death due to half of Americans avoiding care because of cost. This movement is about freedom - freedom from financial burdens, bureaucratic constraints, and to create a system that serves its people.
