Our COO Scott Acheychek recently shared his thoughts with Martin Baccardax of TheStreet following Nvidia’s stronger-than-expected Q4 earnings call. Scott discussed why $NVDA stock may have slid last week even after posting impressive results, noting, “While Nvidia’s stock has seen extraordinary gains over the past year (and more), traders may have already priced in the company’s leadership in AI.” He also shared his thoughts on investors potentially awaiting further clarity on AI infrastructure or regulatory developments in the semiconductor industry. Weekly NVIDIA Update: DeepSeek AI's Economics, China’s Chip Access, and Telecom AI Automation China’s DeepSeek Challenges U.S. AI Economics Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has unveiled staggering profitability claims, citing a potential cost-profit ratio of up to 545% per day. According to Reuters, DeepSeek estimates daily inference costs at $87,072 using NVIDIA’s H800 chips, with projected annual revenue surpassing $200 million. The report highlights the growing efficiency gap between Chinese and U.S. AI firms, where high chip costs remain a critical bottleneck for profitability. NVIDIA Chips Reach China Despite Export Bans Despite U.S. restrictions, Chinese firms continue acquiring NVIDIA’s Blackwell AI chips through intermediaries. The Wall Street Journal reports that servers equipped with NVIDIA’s latest hardware are selling for over $600,000, with deliveries occurring within six weeks. While U.S. regulators attempt to tighten enforcement, underground networks remain active in supplying high-end AI chips, raising concerns over the effectiveness of export controls. NVIDIA Powers AI Automation in Telecom NVIDIA’s AI Enterprise software and DGX Cloud are fueling ServiceNow’s latest AI-driven telecom agents. These automation tools streamline customer service operations, expediting issue resolution while allowing telecom providers to allocate resources to more complex challenges. As AI adoption accelerates in the telecom sector, NVIDIA’s software solutions are becoming integral to industry-wide efficiency gains.

Weekly Tesla Update: Ride-Hailing Ambitions, China’s OTA Crackdown, and Cybertruck Surplus Tesla Eyes Ride-Hailing Market Tesla has applied for a transportation charter-party carrier permit in California, signaling its intent to enter the ride-hailing sector, Bloomberg reports. While Elon Musk has long envisioned an autonomous Tesla fleet, the initial rollout will rely on human drivers. If approved, Tesla’s service could compete with Uber, Lyft, and Waymo, offering a new revenue stream to offset slowing EV sales. China Tightens OTA Update Rules China is introducing stricter regulations on over-the-air (OTA) updates for autonomous driving systems to prevent liability avoidance and defect concealment. Automakers, including Tesla and Xiaomi Technology, will need regulatory approval for OTA changes and must halt production and sales if defects are addressed through updates. The new rules also ban misleading marketing of driver-assistance features, increasing compliance pressure on Tesla’s Full Self-Driving rollout in China. Tesla Cybertruck Inventory Piling Up Cybertruck sales are falling short of expectations, with inventory growing at Tesla’s Texas gigafactory, according to Forbes. Tesla is offering discounts of up to $6,000 on 2024 models to stimulate demand. Analyst Troy Teslike estimates that Tesla ended 2024 with 10,600 unsold Cybertrucks and projects just 21,000 units sold in 2025—well below Tesla’s 250,000-unit target. The surplus highlights potential challenges in scaling production and demand for Tesla’s highly anticipated electric pickup.

I recently had the honor of joining the PASLA 2025 panel on "Asian market access: Untangling the complexities of regional securities finance" in Macao. I was thrilled to share my insights and learn from industry leaders like Karen King from S&P Global Market Intelligence, Antoine de Saint Vaulry from Citigroup, and Carmen C. from Hang Seng Investment Management. The discussion was eye-opening, especially around symbiotic relationship with security financing and #ETFs innovation in Asia and beyond. At REX Financial we’re proud to be at the forefront of this evolution, developing innovative ETF products that not only align with but also actively strengthen this dynamic ecosystem. We also explored how to improve market access and liquidity, which aligns with our focus on innovative ETF strategies that could help investors navigate these complex markets. And my special thanks to Stephen Howard. It was a privilege to contribute to this conversation, and I’m eager to continue exploring how we can innovate to address the challenges and opportunities in Asian securities finance. Connect with me to discuss further or learn more about our ETF innovations! #PASLA2025 #AsianSecuritiesFinance #ETFinnovation
