??,?????? ???????????????? ???????????? ????????!! Today we completed the delivery our 2,000th survivor relief care kits and cake kits! Here's to every moment that has led up to it. Every heart that gave, every hand that delivered, every home opened, every advocate who spoke, every friendship that was formed along the way, every way our circle of care grew ?? This initiative was meant to last 6 months back in Aug 2020 to support families displaced by gender-based violence during the peak of the pandemic, but became something bigger for us - a window into our community, and a chance for us all to serve. ?????????? ???? ?????????? ???????? ???????????? ???????? ?????????????????? ???????? ??????, ???? ???? ?????? ???????? ???? ???? ???????? ?????????? ?????? ?????? ???????? ??????????????, ?????? ?????????? ?????? ?????????? ?? ????????????, ?? ????????????. Every item will be used by someone who has faced some form of violence, has been unjustly displaced by it. The fact that the ask for the kits have continued is a sobering reminder of the work that cannot pause! What a morning it was with the Domestic Violence Awareness Walk in San Ramon! Our community coming together to acknowledge and honor the many stories and journeys of survivors, and to thank the advocates who stand at the frontlines ?? It was an honor to co-host this event with PFLAG-SRV, Narika Contra Costa Senior Legal Services and CONTRA COSTA FAMILY JUSTICE ALLIANCE. We also thank the City Of San Ramon and Chief Carlson for their support! And our biggest thanks to each person who showed up, those who shared their words and voice. It is in these moments when we create circles of care and break the silence around domestic violence! We hope this circle continues to grow. As we stand together, in peace and solidarity. Shoutout to T & D dance for a wonderful program the team put together on Sunday- ‘Mann Re Indradhanush’! What a production!! With theater and dance weaved in together, the show touched so many social justice topics with intent- the thought and love put in was evident in the songs’ selection, dialogs, movement, art work, lighting! ?? Special shoutout to Hemalika Gondhalekar, Founder and Art Director of T&D Dance for all she does for art and the community! As friends and collaborators we also thank the Academy for their recognition and support of Rewire Community’s work, all helping us to continue serving. Last evening, Rewire Community, standing proudly with our co-hosts, PFLAG SRV and Narika welcomed our community to the Donestic Violence Awareness candlelight vigil. A peaceful gathering, where we were honored to hear the personal journeys of many, learn about the work of grassroots organizations such as Tri-Valley Haven, Woman, Inc. - Women Organized to Make Abuse Nonexistent, Family Violence Law Center and Planned Parenthood, listen to the powerful voice of our youth (including Rewire Changemakers), and witness the community showing up in solidarity. ?? With the street lights not coming on (!), we all hussled together to find ways to ensure we keep moving- phone lights, candles, ring lights and all- with a full moon watching over ?? Thank you to all who showed up, and brought light in every way! Here’s to continuing building awareness, creating dialog and driving action to prevent and end all violence! There is much work to be done, but every ripple like this counts to make waves of change ?? #NDVAM #creatingwavesofchange #BreakTheBias
