In the last six years that I have known Madhur Sir, he’s shared the true insights of his journey. Two things we have in common, we have learnt a lot about people by listening to the stories of strangers & being unstoppable is the key to winning! Of course people now know him as the Mega Film Maker but going back to his teenage days he has done odd jobs to support himself. When he told me he sold Chewing gums at a traffic signal in Bandra (I was stunned) while applying buy one get one trick for higher sales which worked back then, that’s when he started observing life around him which helped him study human behaviour. His movie Traffic Signal was inspired by his first hand experience of seeing the real side of people who ran various businesses street side. His passion for Bollywood started as a kid and he used to watch movies at Gaiety Galaxy. He knew so much about films that people around him started calling him the walking cinema encyclopedia(before google & internet became prominent). His words to me back in 2017 were “Mansi, people will take your failures very seriously but that should never stop you in life. My failure with my debut film Trishakti led to me being ghosted by actors and producers they avoided me for the longest time but that didn’t stop me from working on my next film. This happened when a friend took me to a bar for a few drinks, I was wondering where he brought me as there were women dancing. I was covering my face and hoping that no would recognise me. But I can never forget that night as that’s when I got the idea to write the script of my movie Chandini Bar." Life can keep throwing challenges but the ones who keep going will certainly win! When you have the conviction within nothing can stop you. Nothing stopped Madhur Bhandarkar and nothing has stopped me & my Co-Founder Vinav Bhanawat while building Revurge On that note imagine if Madhur Bhandarkar launched a Menswear Fashion Brand, what kind of products you think the brand would sell? My Co-Founder was working from 150ft above ground level during our date! Yes, my husband/ Co-Founder Vinav Bhanawat had to take work calls in the middle of our preplanned sunset date.
