The third RevUp Summit from Professionals for Association Revenue (PAR) is in the books, and it just gets better every year!
My 10 Favorite RevUp 2024 Things:
1. Brant Menswar's keynote kicked things off with a roller coaster of laughter, sad tears, inspiration, more laughter, happy tears, and more inspiration. That behind-the-scenes clip of "This is Me," from The Greatest Showman might even be better than the version in the movie.
2. Jamie Notter wrapped things up with his insights and reminders about the importance of workplace culture and how to figure out what your culture really is... and "being a family" probably doesn't mean what you think it means.
3. The "Turning Content Into Cash" session with Amy Hawkes Repke and Krystle Kopacz was a personal favorite. Pretty sure we all had lightbulbs going off listening to their B2B media-inspired strategies for aligning content and revenue generation.
4. David Upbin's session on bundling education offerings showed how to create a paradoxical data-driven sweet spot where you save money for your members AND increase your revenue. Don't you love it when that happens?
5. Carolyn Shomali's interview of the Pierre Award finalists' – Letty Kluttz with APIC, John Bacon, MBA with ASAE, and Jena Stack, M.Ed, PMP with SIO – highlighted creative ways associations fulfill their mission while generating revenue.
6. Robb Lee's moderated panel with John Bacon, Erin (Stevens) Pressley, Richard Yep, and Lynda Patterson, FASAE, CAE generated great discussion on the stage and among the audience.
7. PAR's annual "volunBeering" project – the Oliver Patch Project co-founded by Brian Burkhardt – was a wonderful way to leverage event attendance to support children battling cancer, other illnesses, and mental health challenges.
8. On the Matchbox side, I loved chatting with folks about how Demo Days can bring in high-value, low-lift revenue for associations.
9. The fun off-agenda event hosted by Lori Zoss Kraska, MBA, CFRE and Ginger Johnson was a lovely and unexpected addition to this year's conference.
10. Finally, the best part of any conference: the people. Meeting new folks and reconnecting with friends and colleagues who are all in the business of supporting association revenue generation is what PAR is all about. It was great to see all the folks above, as well as Colleen McKenna, James Young, Teri Carden, Jeff Baker, Andy Steggles, Barbara J. Armentrout, CAE, Bruce Rosenthal, Dr. Michael Tatonetti, CPP, CAE (he/him), Jeff Cobb, Celisa Steele, Karl Ely, Bill Sheehan, Rachel Druckenmiller ??, Dianne Vance, CAE, Lewis Flax, Danielle Duran Baron, MA, MBA, FASAE, CAE (she/her), Judy Lewis I Voiceover Artist, Moustafa Abdel-Kader, Vinodhini Deshetty, Dan Cole, Patrick Calpin, and many others LinkedIn won't let me tag! ??
Sean Soth and the entire PAR team hit it out of the park this year, and I'm already looking forward to #revup2025!
