October was an exciting month for RISE! We held our annual staff retreat in Arizona, returning recharged and ready for the work ahead. We also launched a new Expressions blog by Hanin Moussa, which you can read on our website! Throughout the month, we participated in several events, including the inaugural networking event for Tala Abdallah’s business, SpaceKeeperMN, as well as Mizna’s 25-year gala. We also attended the groundbreaking of Northside Economic Opportunity Network (NEON)’s Northside Collective Kitchen and The Coven’s Radical Leadership Summit, where our executive director, Malika Dahir, and our Shero, Farhia Budul, LADC, East African Community, were nominated for radical leadership awards! Additionally, our CE team set up a voter registration table at the University of Minnesota, and we hosted a successful workshop on halal investing with Samar T. from Saturna Capital. We look forward for what's to come in November!
