Please welcome Nancy Short to the Revive & Thrive Board of Directors! Nancy is a native Michigander and professional people person. Her career, focused on strategic initiatives and engagement, has spanned a breadth of industries from government to health care, where her guiding principle has always been a desire to help others accomplish something bigger than themselves. Her greatest satisfaction comes from witnessing the moment someone’s eyes light up when they see the bigger picture and their role in it. After majoring in political science and psychology at the University of Michigan, Short pursued a master’s degree in political management at The George Washington University and began her career in government and politics. She’s thrilled to be working for Corewell Health as Manager, Board Governance, where she stood up the department and is leading daily operations. A proponent of movement, food, and the arts as medicine, she’s delighted to serve on the Revive & Thrive Project board to put her belief of food as medicine into practice. We are excited to have Nancy's exceptional qualifications and deep passion for community service to enhance our organizational leadership!

Providing nourishing meals to those in a health crisis.
关于我们
At the Revive and Thrive Project, we believe in the healing power of food as an essential element in the recovery process for individuals facing health crises. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to preparing and providing wholesome, nutritious meals for people confronting serious illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, or heart disease. Our menus are thoughtfully crafted to be rich in nutrients, with a strong emphasis on whole, organic, and locally sourced ingredients. Many of our clients are living in isolation with limited support, and our meals not only nourish and strengthen their bodies but also provide solace, letting them know that the community cares about their well-being. Our mission is driven by a dedicated team of over 40 volunteers who deeply understand the significance of our work. Furthermore, we are committed to mentoring young chefs, imparting valuable lessons not only about the importance of healthy and nutritious food but also about essential life skills that will empower them to thrive in the future.

This World Kindness Day, we're celebrating our amazing volunteers, teen chefs, and generous donors who prove that kindness is the most powerful ingredient. Their dedication allows them to share comfort and hope with our neighbors facing life-altering illnesses. Every carefully prepared dish comes with a side of compassion, reminding those we serve that they're not alone on their journey. Our teen chefs are learning early that kindness has no age limit. They're rolling up their sleeves alongside our adult volunteers, chopping, cooking, and packaging meals with heart. Together, they're showing that when we lead with kindness, we strengthen our entire community. None of this would be possible without our gracious donors, whose kindness is mixed into every meal we serve. Their generous support ensures we can keep our kitchen running and our mission growing. Want to spread kindness in your community? Join our mission! Visit reviveandthriveproject.org (links in bio) to learn about volunteer opportunities, including our teen chef program, or donate to help us serve more neighbors facing health crises. Every act of kindness counts! #WorldKindnessDay #PowerOfKindness #VolunteersRock #TeensGivingBack #KitchenVolunteers #TeenChefs #GRVolunteers #WestMichiganVolunteers #BeKind #FoodAsMedicine #NourishingTheCommunity

Thank you to the fifth graders at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School for helping us restock our kitchen pantry! Our weekly meal preparation uses many of these goods to nourish those life-altering illnesses. It warms our hearts to see how these students are helping to bring comfort and support to families during difficult times.

Our teen chefs brought their energy and skills to the kitchen this week! With a full house of enthusiastic helpers, we prepped fresh, nourishing meals for our clients while sharing laughs and learning together. After the meals were packaged, our teen chefs enjoyed making and sharing healthy snacks — protein balls and creamy peanut butter yogurt dip with fresh apples. Teen chefs work alongside Chef Mandy every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30-6:30 pm. If you're between ages 14-18, currently enrolled in high school, and interested in learning culinary skills, teamwork, leadership, and healthy eating — join us in the Revive & Thrive kitchen!
