This initiative is central to the?Green Economy Action Plan, a vital effort to help NYC fight climate change. Though our tech may not be a formal part of the initiative, it can certainly help NYC businesses (and beyond!) on this mission. Revert Technologies off to the races post oversubscribed seed round At a time when more and more electricity draining appliances are put on the grid and when electricity prices have surged across our country, Revert has created an enterprise software platform that leverages smart IoT power adapters, utility grid pricing analytics and machine learning to deliver up to 30% in electricity bill savings for commercial real estate tenants. Revert Technologies had the awesome opportunity to attend an insightful presentation on the Socio-Ecological Dimensions of Climate Change in Maine, hosted graciously by Terra Dunham at The Roux Institute at Northeastern University. Local experts at The Nature Conservancy, Maine Governor's Energy Office, and Bowdoin College shared eye-opening insights on how climate change is affecting our home state. It’s clear that there’s a lot to tackle—but that’s where we come in! Our smart energy-saving technology directly addresses one of the key contributors to climate change—energy waste. ?? Cornell University Takes Bold Steps Toward Carbon Neutrality ?? Cornell University is leading the charge in sustainability with its ambitious Climate Action Plan aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2035. Cornell is implementing innovative solutions to achieve this goal, and Revert Technologies could not be more proud to be part of this effort. Revert’s technology conserves energy by automatically turning off equipment when not in use, addressing the issue of phantom loads—energy consumed by devices even in standby mode. In a pilot at the Helen Newman Fitness Center, 22 pieces of equipment were connected to Revert’s smart plugs, resulting in an estimated savings of 756.5 kWh of electricity and a reduction of 177.017lbs CO2e in just two months. This is the equivalent of driving a car 205 miles or charging 5,301 smartphones! As Kimberly Barth Anderson, Assistant Director of Campus Sustainability, noted, "We're excited to build upon the success of the Revert Technologies pilot and expand Acorns into more Cornell Fitness Centers this upcoming semester." Equally as impressive is their reduction of 386lbs of CO2e since mid-August.
