I leveled up in 2024 by making 1 big change... But it was not obvious... Before I get there, a brief story.... I always worked hard. Since 14, I worked at a pharmacy, a burger shop, in retail, at a marketing agency, and more. My first business, _break corporate wellness (YogaBreak), started in 2014. I had and have no shortage of hutzpah to hustle, sell, network & put in effort. I even was good at asking for help and getting mentors. However, my success was capped... Due to my mindset. I only recently learned something. Managing your mind is as important as managing your physical energy. (In fact, the mind/body split is a false dichotomy) I always thought mindset was hippy dippy bullsh*t which didn't apply to me. Even being a yoga instructor. That said, my girlfriend has taught me a lot... And, I met a very inspiring person on NYE 2023. He is a very successful coach to some of the world's most successful folks. He and I spoke for hours on mindset, meditation, changing people's lives, etc. I just saw him again in Austin recently. He told me something powerful: Your subconscious does NOT know the difference between a vivid imagined situation and observed physical reality. Thus, if you imagine yourself achieving your wildest dreams, your behavior will change to lead you in that direction. After meeting him on NYE '23, I started meditating 2-3x a week in 2024 and my life improved a lot. If meditation feels overwhelming or scary or "not you:".... I recommend Dr. Sam Harris's Waking Up app. Other places to start on YouTube include: - Vishen Lakhiani, Mindvalley - Paul McKenna, Mindvalley - Dr Joe Dispenza Dr. Andrew Huberman also mentions (I'm paraphrasing) that meditation is simply focusing your attention. If you made it this far... Ask yourself. How is your attention today? What is your intention? What are you working towards? Thanks for your continued support. Never the type to walk up to someone at a bar? Know you need to network, but hate reaching out to strangers? But, you’re good once introduced? You enjoy networking if people reach out to you. You know many people are willing to help, even if they don’t know you. But setting up and finding these conversations is your LEAST favorite thing. Is this you? Here’s the truth. Most jobs (30-50%+) are sourced through referrals or your professional network. if you’re not networking, it’s like running a race with 1 leg. If you don’t have these chats, you are missing out on: - instant interviews - inside information - internal referrals What’s the solution? You need a networking system. Commit to sending 5 LinkedIn requests per day. Commit to texting 3 old friends per week. Hold yourself accountable by telling a spouse, friend or mentor. Alternatively, >outsource your networking< to a reverse recruiter. Reverse Recruiting Agency reaches out to 1000 of your future boss PER DAY on your behalf. If you're an accountant, it means we email 1000 CFOs and Directors of Accounting, daily. If you're in supply chain, we email 1000 CPOs and Director of Procurement. RRA schedules you 3-5 calls per week with potential hiring managers or external recruiters. We also do 100 job apps/week for you, including follow-up and scheduling. You essentially only pay when you find a job. Other reverse recruiters charge you a monthly fee with no guarantees. Thanks for your continued support! You know those tools recruiters use to reject candidates? I just talked with an ???? who built Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Yes, he worked on the tool which screens your resume. He has seen over 10,000. Here is what he told me: The job market is broken. Only 3% of candidates get callbacks from LinkedIn or Indeed apps. After speaking to 100+ candidates, I believe that number is closer to 1%. He also gave me some key tips. If your resume isn’t ATS-optimized, start there. (Check my other posts for how) Assuming it is.... Here are 3 ways to level up: 1. Keywords and skills in your >most recent job< matter most. Make sure they match up with the job you are targeting. 2. Job Titles are super important. Your current job title, and less so, your prior titles, should match or be close to the target role. This is controversial.... But I recommend changing your titles slightly to do so. For example: - Finance Analyst -> Financial Analyst - Supply Chain Manager -> Procurement Manager - Treasury Analyst -> Treasury Specialist Corporate recruiters can give more context... But I believe companies are understanding in background checks, as long as the role is quite similar. 3. Highlight skills throughout your resume. Especially in bullet points and in the Skills section. Run your resume through tools like Teal to ensure no major issues. Good luck and happy job hunting. Thank you for your continued support! I get 50 resumes a week. These are the top 3 mistakes I see: But first, remember... The ONLY goal of a resume is: To get you an interview! Ok, let's go. 1. Format Your format is probably wrong. If the HR system (ATS) can't scan it... Your resume won’t make the cut. Use tools like EarnBetter, Jobscan, or Simplify to fix. 2. Customization Do not send the same resume to every job. Nowadays, customization is table stakes, or par for the course. Tailor your resume for each role. How can you do this? AI-based tools are the way to go here... However, be sure to review their output before submitting. 3. Achievements This is a mindset error I see everywhere. You do not need to pay a resume writer. Just keep reading... Listing job duties is not enough. Look, every Accountant can track $ and costs... To break through, you need to show impact & results. Examples: ? Found a $15M error in a corporate audit in FY2023. ? Proposed & led implementation of an ERP system, saving $400K of labor costs by automating manual work. ? Rated as an “Overperformer” each year; only 15% of employees receive such performance reviews. This way, you STAND OUT from other candidates. Good luck! Thank you for your continued support. Follow along at Alex Shinkarovsky & Reverse Recruiting Agency #reverserecruiter #reverserecruiting

I once trained a senior leader at Google. Her job search secret stuck with me. Show that you were a STAR at your last job. Here’s why: Most resumes say, “I was responsible for XYZ.” That’s a missed opportunity. Your resume is purely a marketing document. Your future boss already knows you did XYZ... Or they would not read your resume. Let’s put this in perspective: For a single role, 500 people may apply. - 50 of them will be qualified. - All 50 can do the job. But here’s the real question: ? Were you a star in your last role? ? Did you transform the department? ? Get promoted in 6 months? ? Save $500k by fixing a broken process? ? Confidently lead a presentation to the C-suite? Hiring managers spend 5-10 seconds on a resume. Think of it like a dating app profile. Would you swipe right on someone who just lists their facts? - 5'10 - 15% bodyfat - Lives in New York City - Works in Finance No. (Well...maybe you would, lol) But, in all seriousness, how can you stand out? Most were bad fits: - Unprofessional - Poor work history - Not motivated But, learning what works & what does not… Is part of every successful endeavor. The wins, though? Incredible. On every 100 applications.... Our clients get 5 - 15 interviews. - InMails come in weekly. - Resumes pass HR filters. - Hiring Managers reply to outreach. - Candidates get final rounds & offers. We have the data to prove it. The job search market is broken. Cracking the system is hard work! Thank you for your continued support. We are scaling up now and in 2025, stay tuned. Here are our top 10 tips to get more InMails from recruiters. RRA clients are now getting 1-3 InMails daily. I spoke to 3 recruiters last week to get fresh info. 1 Use the right keywords. Run 5 top job posts through ChatGPT to find the keywords for your target roles. Use those keywords in your profile, naturally. 2 Complete every section. Profiles with all sections filled out rank higher in searches. 3 Engage. Comment, post, or share content periodically to keep your profile active. 4 Get 1-3 recommendations. They add credibility and improve your SEO ranking. 5 Customize your URL. Make it simple and professional for easy sharing. /johnsmith is better than /johnsmith-049 6 Optimize your summary. Use a hook in the first sentence. Keep it clear, succinct, and relevant. Avoid assumptions about what people know. 7 Use LinkedIn Recruiter filters to your advantage. Recruiters use Keyword & Title searches and filter for Location, Years in Current Role, Company Size & Title. 8 Add skills from job postings. RRA best practice: Find 10 Easy Apply roles, add skills from those jobs. See below. 9 Add alternatives of major skills. For example, Accountants should add both "GAAP" & "US GAAP." See below. 10 Profile Picture. Your profile pic should be - straight ahead - professional for your industry - well-lit - (KEY) zoomed in on face. Recruiters spend 5-10 seconds initially—think of it like a dating profile. Try Profile Pic Maker, shout out to Jean Kang for this resource! The more time recruiters spend on your profile, the more the algorithm upranks you for other recruiters. LinkedIn monetize eyeballs, so if your profile keeps people engaged, it’s the right profile for someone's search. ! Bonus Tip: Ask a recruiter. If you schedule a call with a friendly recruiter, ask them to take 30 seconds to eyeball your profile and give feedback. Thank you for your continued support. In college, I had 10 internships. I practically lived at BU Career Services, constantly tweaking my resume. Networking was my sport. Figuring out my future was the game. Post-college, I became the go-to resume and LinkedIn guy for friends. From 2014 to 2023, I landed 300 interviews & calls using my LinkedIn outreach system. I changed careers 5 times and, to my accountant's chagrin, maintained 5 income streams. In 2023, I helped friends, family, and clients find jobs. Early 2024, I helped a VP of Finance get 15 recruiter calls—no job offer, but Reverse Recruiting Agency was born. RRA has incredible product/market fit. In 4 months, we’ve had: - 48 inbound calls - 15 referrals - 12 clients signed - 7 clients terminated - $50 on Google Ads Most of those 7 clients were poor fits—met them on the beach, at a fitness event, even a close friend. Building something takes patience, iteration, and knowing when to move on. We’re now ready to scale. Thanks for your continued support. Reverse Recruiting Stats: June 29 - July 29 (this was all done on his behalf) 46 new LinkedIn connections 70 inmails sent 60 emails sent 4 replies 3 informational interviews 5 calls made 20 jobs applied 5 interviews First, here's why he's getting interviews: 1 Pedigree Our client works in the Fortune 500. His last 3 roles have been in 1 industry. 2 Highly Qualified Overachiever He's a ?? rocketship who has drawn a clear path in his specialization, checking & exceeding all necessary boxes. 3 Timeliness RRA applies within 12-24 hours of a role being released. 4 Resume RRA applies with a custom resume, using keyword-optimized bullet points. 5 Follow-up RRA InMails and/or emails 3-5 potential hiring managers following the app. 6 Response time RRA or the candidate replies to any recruiter or LinkedIn msg within 3 hours.
