Comp changes won't turn farmers into hunters. George Lagone explains... George is Partner at RevenueShift, which is a Sales Effectiveness consultancy. So Q4 is all about changes for next year. I asked him what companies are getting wrong. He says too many companies are trying to take account managers and turn them into account executives by switching up the comp plan. It sounds easier than going to market and hiring teams, managers, and building structures. But it doesn’t work. If someone signed up for one role, they don’t want to move into the other.
