It takes all of us. This important study—led by Della Lamb Community Services in partnership with the City of Kansas City brought together organizations across our city to better understand the impact of the recent influx of newcomers on our communities and systems. Revolución Educativa was proud to be part of this collaboration, with Advocacy & Impact Officer Christy Joyce Moreno Denton representing our organization and contributing hundreds of hours to listening sessions, data advising, and community engagement—ensuring Latino and immigrant voices were included every step of the way. A huge shoutout to Amy Coffman with Lighting Up Language & Welcoming KC who led and coordinated this multi-layered project with care, clarity, and incredible dedication. Her leadership brought together countless moving parts and voices to make this work possible. Now it’s time to share the findings. Join us for a powerful webinar Monday March 31st to learn more about what was uncovered—and what it will take to move forward together. Register today – leckc.org/della

Compartimos y celebramos su amor por el poder judicial y la fuerza de la comunidad. Education should not be a political pawn. The president does not have the unilateral authority to dismantle a federal agency created by Congress, and this overreach must be challenged. We refuse to stand by as public education is dismantled. We call on lawmakers at all levels to take immediate action to protect students, uphold civil rights, and ensure that education remains a national priority.

The fight for multilingual learners is happening NOW—Tennessee, Kansas, and even at the federal level. From Tennessee’s attempt to deny undocumented children access to public education to Kansas’s push to revoke in-state tuition for immigrant students, we are witnessing a coordinated effort to strip opportunities from multilingual learners. And now, reports suggest the Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA) has been quietly shuttered, gutting federal support for English learners nationwide. This is not just about policy—it’s about our values. Education is a right, not a privilege. We must act now to protect the future of millions of students who bring deep talent, multilingual skills, and cultural wealth to our schools. Read our latest post to learn more and take action today. Contact Congress and demand they stand up for English learners! leckc.org/13Mar25 #education #publiceducation

Protect Kids’ Health - Take Action Today! Congress is proposing $880 BILLION in Medicaid cuts, putting 880,000 children in MO & KS at risk of losing healthcare. Schools depend on Medicaid for special education and health services funding, and these cuts would mean less funding for education and more job losses in our communities. This isn’t just about healthcare—it’s about our kids, our schools, and our future. Read our full statement below and take action by urging your representative to vote NO on these cuts. Thank you to Sen. Hawley & Reps. Cleaver and Davids for standing against them. ?? Contact your representative today: leckc.org/Congress #ProtectMedicaid #HealthyKids #FundOurFuture #publicschools

At Revolución Educativa (RevED), we work at the intersection of education, advocacy, public policy, and community building to create the conditions for the advancement of Latino youth. Immigrant students and families must feel safe, supported, and valued in their schools. District leaders must not only visibly reaffirm their commitment to keeping ICE out of school buildings but also ensure that their policies are clear, actionable, and enforced. Access our resources and take action today.?Schools must be places of learning—not fear. leckc.org/NoICE Don't forget to subscribe to our Substack while you are there!

We’ve teamed up with Show Me KC Schools to support the Spanish School Guide this year - because every parent has the right to access clear, objective, and data-driven information about their child’s school options, all in Spanish. Since spring, we’ve worked tirelessly to bring this guide to life—searching for photos, gathering info, translating, and fine-tuning every detail. Huge shoutout to Christy, who dedicated countless hours to translating, and Iván, whose unwavering commitment made this project possible. But here’s what makes this guide revolutionary: the Know Your Rights section. ?? Parents have the power to advocate for their children, and now they have the tools to do just that—right at their fingertips. This guide is more than information. It’s about equity. It’s about empowerment. It’s about standing up for what our communities deserve. #ParentsRights #SpanishSchoolGuide #Education #KnowYourRights #EquityInEducation
Our navigation team led by Danielle Dispenza has done an incredible job on the newest Spanish School Guide. Constructed to support Spanish-speaking parents searching for school options in the Kansas City area. We are truly grateful to Danielle, our Spanish Navigator Citlali Valdes, and our Latinx Education Collaborative & Revolución Educativa partners for their partnership and work on the Spanish School Guide. Physical guides can be found at the local libraries and around the community. The e-book version can be accessed via the link below. https://lnkd.in/g-vCwP9h

We stand alongside our communities, honoring the resilience and vision that those in allyship with our work bring in creating bright futures for young people. Today, as we face an election outcome that underscores a societal divide that impacts many Latino families, our commitment is firm: we will not allow progress to be overshadowed by racism, misogyny, or fear-mongering. Revolución Educativa remains dedicated to recognizing the experiences and contributions of Latino students, families, and educators, and advocating for policies and practices that move us forward. Together, we will continue to build collective power hand in hand with Latino youth in pursuit of a future where our families prosper and thrive.
