The power of using someone’s name ?? I had a screen call with a candidate this morning and he really stood out to me. One of the reasons - he used my name to great effect on the call. Not just at the start and end, but several times during the conversation. It kept me engaged and it made me instantly warm to him as a person. In ‘How to Win Friends & Influence People’, Dale Carnegie said “A person's name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language”. It sounds such a simple thing, but it's very powerful and easy to make a natural part of your daily communication.

Client said to me yesterday: “don’t worry, I can email the candidate this afternoon to set the final stage up” Me: “no, leave it to me - I’ll call the candidate right now and arrange” = same day final stage interview arranged ?? Momentum throughout the interview process is so important, especially as things heat up towards the end. Email back and forth can waste days, especially when multiple time zones are involved. And when you’re competing for an A-Player, time really does kill deals. There is no reason for an interview process to take longer than 2-3 weeks ? If you rely solely on arranging interviews via email or through your ATS, not only are you elongating that process, but you’re missing the opportunity to build a relationship and nurture the candidate, giving you a competitive edge when it comes to offer stage. #gtm #hiring #recruiting RevHire

They’ve secured over $15m in funding and looking for someone to head up their US expansion and ride the journey from $10m > $100m. 50% of their revenue comes from the US already, but you would be the first boots on the ground. The ideal person would have been on a similar revenue growth journey with a D2C company previously, ideally within travel/FinTech ?
