?? Do you enjoy fixing things? Join Reuse Minnesota and five Greater Minnesota regions to launch Fix-It Clinics, where we help residents repair items, reduce waste, and share skills. We’re looking for volunteers with repair and mending skills, and those to assist with event tasks. Partners include Chisago County, Dodge County, Olmsted County Minnesota, Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management, and Stearns History Museum. Youth volunteers are welcome! This initiative is supported by a?Statewide Waste Reduction and Reuse grant?from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. We are so excited to kick off Club Mend today! During our 8-week after-school program at St. Louis Park Middle School, we will be teaching students the value of repairing their belongings, and showing them common techniques for mending. Students will have the opportunity to practice their skills with a variety of take home projects, including creating patches, making t-shirt tote bags, crafting upcycled gift bags, creating art, and more! We?thank the Hennepin County Green Partners environmental education program for grant funding, allowing us to educate these middle schoolers. Member showcase: HAPPY DANCING TURTLE We are excited to share our latest member showcase featuring Happy Dancing Turtle, a nonprofit dedicated to fostering environmental stewardship and inspiring positive change! Their mission is all about environmental education—offering engaging programs, workshops, and experiences for youth and adults alike. Through classes, blogs, and collaborations, Happy Dancing Turtle helps individuals spark curiosity and take meaningful actions for the planet. Their efforts are especially impactful in schools and after-school programs, where they aim to cultivate a deep love and appreciation for nature in young minds. In addition, they host a seasonal bingo scavenger hunt, open to all ages! It's a fun and interactive way for people to explore nature, all while connecting virtually by submitting photos. Happy Dancing Turtle is also a passionate advocate for regenerative agriculture, working with farmers and producers to promote soil health and sustainable farming practices.
