"What a month it's been!
For starters,?Return?Home once again received the National Funeral Directors Association's Pursuit of Excellence, 'Best of the Best' award. This is the second time we have received this, and all the better to think we have only been open for 3 years. We have come so incredibly far - there are 19,000 funeral?homes?in the U.S., and we have managed to be selected for this award twice. This is all because of the?Return?Home?team - their dedication, professionalism, and heart are quite literally upending our industry.
Congratulations to the Homies for achieving what most believed impossible - to not only start a funeral?home?with a brand new disposition, but also to be recognized by our funeral industry peers as best in class. Eight members of our core team will attend the New Orleans NFDA annual convention in October, and they will all be on stage to receive the award. Most of these folks have worked in the industry their entire career, and have never received recognition for their contributions. It makes me happy beyond measure to see them get a moment to stand in front of thousands of people and be recognized for just how amazing they are.
Next, TerraCon tickets are now on sale! Visit TerraCon.life to check out the agenda and purchase tickets. We have presenters coming from around the world - death doulas, senior Catholic leaders, lawyers, mortuary students, funeral directors, rabbis, documentarians, soil scientists. We aren’t playing - this is going to be the event of the year, and we want you with us!
Last week also saw Brie, Katey, Chris, and yours truly flying to New York to see the sights! Three years ago I promised our executive team that when?Return?Home?got serious traction, we’d head to New York City to celebrate. It took us a hot second, but we got there! We also took the opportunity to speak at a packed terramation event at?Sparrow Funerals Inc.?in Brooklyn. Their facility is amazing, and Erica and her team are even better. Also beyond gratifying to see that our New York brethren are excited about terramation for their state. Check out?The New York Times?article written about Sparrow's facility a month or so ago. They are phenomenal.
Be well, you beauties.
