What a great Global Footwear and Apparel Traceability Summit (GFAT) in Washington D.C. this week! ?? It was a pleasure for our Nicholas Brown and Carla Gutsche to work together with Stacey Roen in a working group with the goal to streamline traceability efforts across the industry to reduce costs, improve compliance and enhance data accuracy. We know from our customers how challenging it can be to standardize data and to get everything just right in order to meet current as well as emerging legislation. At Retraced, we firmly believe that collaboration and partnerships are key to supporting brands in the often-confusing field of supply chain compliance ?? #GFATsummit #GFAT #TraceabilitySummit #Sustainability #Footwear #Apparel #MaterialTraceability #SupplyChainTransparency

Supply chain reporting isn’t just complicated—it’s fragmented, inconsistent, and exhausting for suppliers. Brands, regulators, and industry bodies each have their own frameworks, leaving suppliers to juggle multiple (often redundant) reporting requirements. As Sophie Benson highlights in this great Vogue Business article, the industry is waking up to the problem: https://lnkd.in/dwN-VhSY. Initiatives like the Supply Chain Taxonomy by the Apparel Alliance (Cascale, Textile Exchange, ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme and the Apparel Impact Institute) and pilots like Textile Exchange’s TrackIt system aim to bring some order to the chaos. Retraced, alongside other tech partners, is taking part in Textile Exchange's pilot to make these systems actually talk to each other—because a single source of truth shouldn’t be a pipe dream. Swipe through our carousel for some key insights, and make sure to read the full article as well! #SupplyChainTRansparency #Traceability #SustainableFashion #ESGReportingChallenges

Thank you for this concise and to-the-point analysis of the omnibus proposal Marwa Zamaray! This is the best we have seen so far ??

?????????????? ?????????? ?????? ?????? ????????????????—?????????????????????? ???? ?????? ?????? ????????????! Everyone’s scrambling to declare the “real impact” based on leaked documents (scraps), rushed translations, and whispers from Brussels. Add in all the ChatGPT-generated conclusions, overhyped conclusions, and suddenly everyone’s racing to post the hottest take—whether it makes sense or not. ????, ????????’?? ?????? ??????????????? It’s the one word on everyone’s lips, yet despite that, nobody really knows what it is—even within the EU itself. The Omnibus proposal is a legislative initiative aimed at simplifying sustainability laws by streamlining reporting and due diligence requirements for businesses. Basically, the EU wants to take #CSRD, #CSDDD, and the #Taxonomy, throw them into a blender, and reduce them into a single, simplified framework. The word Omnibus itself means a collection of works addressing multiple issues—think of it like a book compiling various texts on a single subject. While the goal is to cut administrative burdens and enhance competitiveness, there’s a very real risk that this “simplification” is just a cover for weakening sustainability laws. This uncertainty is making businesses nervous and raising concerns about the EU’s commitment to sustainability and supply chain due diligence. ?????? ???????? ???? ????????????? Because this could reshape #ESG rules, corporate accountability, and reporting obligations overnight. If you care about sustainability, transparency, or even just regulatory stability, this is a massive deal. Proponents argue that reducing complexity is necessary to keep the EU competitive, especially as other regions lean toward deregulation. This includes cutting reporting obligations for SMEs and streamlining sustainability reporting overall. ????????’?? ???????????????? ???? ????? CSRD and CSDDD are being scaled back—now covering only companies with 1,000+ employees. CSDDD itself is getting gutted: no civil liability, due diligence only for direct suppliers, and financial institutions completely off the hook. The EU Taxonomy might become voluntary, and companies could see significant rollbacks in transparency requirements across their value chains. ?????? ?????? ??????????????????????? That this is the first step in dismantling ESG regulations. That the EU is quietly walking back its sustainability commitments to appease corporate lobbies. That the Green Deal is being unraveled under the nice-sounding label of “simplification.” ??????’?? ???????? ???????? ?? ???????????? ?????? ???????? ?????? ?????? ???????????? ????????. Leaked documents give us clues, but not the full picture. The #Omnibus is still in consultation, and the final version is coming soon. Then we’ll see whether the EU has actually streamlined #sustainability laws—or just stripped them down.
