Congratulations to RCA member Kirsten Meneghello, JD, PCC, CPRC on celebrating 15 years since her launch as a coach!!! Well done- you are a great example and resource to us all.
?? Coaching Leaders to be Effective Communicators | Helping Professionals Transition from Career to Retirement ?? | Bringing Everything DiSC? Solutions to Teams ??
?? CELEBRATING 15 YEARS OF SERVICE!??? ? This year marks 15 years of?Illumination Coaching!!!?(Yes, that deserves three exclamation points.)?I could not have imagined when I started my coaching practice in February 2010 that I?would be celebrating 15 years of service as a coach?and consultant today.?It's thrilling and I feel so blessed to do the work I love to do every day. This journey started when I was frustrated by the lack of leadership and strategic vision at the organization I worked for at the time. I quit my job and hired a fantastic coach, Cassi Christiansen, MCC, PMC, BCC, who?helped me to see that I had actually been coaching and mentoring people informally?for most of my life. My coach helped me connect the dots to?see the common thread? in my life experiences that would direct me to become a professional coach.?For example, I had?honed my communication skills over a variety of work, educational, and volunteer experiences. I had?been tapped for leadership roles many times. Those things – along with a desire to serve and see others develop – were the ingredients in the mix that led to the creation of my coaching practice. Of course, there have been stops and starts along the way. Missteps and mistakes. Learnings at every turn. However, I'm very proud how I've impacted?hundreds of leaders and their team members. And I haven't done it alone.?I am so grateful for the community of coaches, consultants, and mentors that have supported me?along the way. So here's to 15 years of service –?and hopefully another 15 more!???

Congratulations to RCA member Kimberly Stratman on her recent interview on first responders in retirement. Well done!
First responders dedicate their lives to protecting our communities. But what happens when their service ends? ?? Retirement presents unique challenges for these brave individuals. On the latest Retirement Revealed podcast, I spoke with Kimberly Stratman, a retired police lieutenant with 30+ years of experience, about the specific needs of first responders in retirement. Kimberly's insights, as a former officer and family member of officers, are truly invaluable. Key takeaways: - Beyond Finances: Retirement planning for first responders is about more than just money. Health and relationships are equally crucial. ?? - The Toll of Service: The emotional and physical demands of the job can impact retirement. It's crucial to acknowledge and address these challenges. - Loss of Identity: Turning in the uniform can be an emotional experience. Finding new purpose and meaning is essential. - Early Planning: Retirement conversations should start early in a first responder's career, not just a few years before they leave the force. - Triage Your Life: Kimberly emphasizes the importance of assessing your finances, health, and relationships and addressing any issues proactively. ??
