US Dept of Commerce E-Commerce Sales data is out for Q2. Q2 e-commerce grew 6.6% vs Q2 2023, which reflects a slowing growth rate for e-commerce. Core retail sales (sales without gas, auto, and restaurants) grew 3.1% during the same period. Year to date (Jan-Jun) e-commerce reflects 21.8% of year to date core retail sales. Here is a visualization that has been adjusted for seasonality. To put the 6.6% Q2 E-Com growth in perspective. Amazon US E-Commerce grew about 8.7% and Walmart E-Com grew 22% during the same period.
