The shift from Software as a Service to Service as a Software thanks to AI is more disruptive than we might realize. AI startups aren’t just offering new capabilities—they’re redefining how we pay for software. As Kyle Poyar brilliantly explains in one of his recent posts (https://shorturl.at/LXE83), the biggest current game-changer is moving from charging for access to software (traditional subscription) to pricing based on work delivered or even outcome success. This new model is transformative. Why? It lowers total cost of ownership (TCO) and reduces risk for the customer. And since TCO and risk are inversely related to willingness to pay (and adoption), AI-powered SaaS generates more money, faster and is simply outpacing traditional competitors. In fact, a study conducted by Stripe highlights just how powerful this effect can be https://lnkd.in/e24eceqF How should traditional SaaS respond? Adding more AI features? Go full PLG? Better positioning? #AI #SaaS

#AI agents are about to have their moment (and it's about time). Too many people think #GenerativeAI tools like #ChatGPT are nothing more than search engines on steroids. Twice over the past few months, I've been introduced at a conference (at which I was speaking about AI) by someone who started by asking the audience, "How many of you are confused by AI?" In both situations, not a single person raised their hand. LIARS. When I got a call from a credit union CEO who said "we're hesitant to use AI because of fears of bias and lack of transparency," I knew that he and his team were confused about AI. When I saw on LinkedIn recently a pretty smart person say that Gen AI tools like ChatGPT are nothing but chatbots with a better UI, I knew he was confused about AI. A recent report from McKinsey about AI agents helps to clear up this confusion. According to the report: "We are beginning an evolution from knowledge-based, Gen AI–powered tools—chatbots that answer questions and generate content—to Gen AI–enabled agents that use foundation models to execute complex, multistep workflows across a digital world. In short, the technology is moving from thought to action." The report goes on to describe how Gen AI-enabled agents could work: 1. ???????? ???????????????? ??????????????????????.?A user provides a natural-language prompt, and the system identifies the intended use case, asking the user for additional clarification when required. 2. ?????????? ??????????, ??????????????????, ?????? ???????????????? ????????.?The agent system processes a prompt into a workflow, breaks it down into tasks and subtasks, which a manager subagent assigns to other specialized subagents. These subagents, equipped with necessary domain knowledge and tools, draw on prior “experiences” and codified domain expertise, coordinating with each other and using organizational data and systems to execute these assignments. 3. ?????????? ?????????????????????? ???????????????? ????????????.?Throughout a process, an agent requests user input to ensure accuracy and relevance, and the process concludes with the agent providing final output to the user, iterating on feedback shared by the user. For great banking-related examples, see Chris Nichols' post on ?????????????? ???????? ???????????? ???????? ???????? (and everything else he's written, for that matter). My AI mantra in my AI presentations is "Generative AI will accelerate human productivity and creativity." Educate your management/executive team and your board about AI agents. And please tell them about Cornerstone Advisors' Disruption University session in October. I just signed on as one of the presenters!
