A cancer diagnosis can be frightening and can change your life. Come to a place of caring and helpful support. Whether you have cancer, or support a loved one with cancer, we have a group for you! Support groups, facilitated by a licensed clinical social worker, are a safe place to help you create your own support network, to increase your independence through interdependence. They provide a place to talk about and manage difficult feelings, to facilitate increased self-awareness and self-compassion. Attend in-person or online. There are several Support Groups available. Thank you to the Dunn Loring Fire Department for hosting the Trunk or Treat in partnership with Tysons Emergency for the 3rd year in a row. It was wonderful to see the community come out in costume to have a little fun to celebrate the season! We are thankful to the Fairfax County Police Department, the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board, all of our Reston Hospital and Tysons Emergency volunteers and our community members for the successful Crush the Crisis-Drug Take Back event at the end of last month. We appreciate those who took the time to drop off unused and expired medication to dispose of it appropriately and avoid it ending up in the wrong hands or in our soil and water supply. With your help, we collected over 350 lbs of medication! We will see you again in April for the Spring Drug Take Back event!
