For International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating all the women working to protect our environment, those who are advocating for proper non-flushable labeling on product packaging and everyone in between. As a woman-led organization, we understand that empowered women can have an immeasurable positive impact on communities across the globe. With the help of these women, our waterways stay further protected for a healthier planet.?#IWD2025

关于我们
The Responsible Flushing Alliance is an independent, nonprofit trade association committed to educating consumers about responsible and smart flushing habits to help reduce damage to our nation’s sewage systems. - Clear and prominent labeling of non-flushable items and the adoption of smart flushing habits are key to solving the problem of sewage clogs. - By providing education and resources to government agencies, wastewater groups, sanitation agencies, and other stakeholder groups, together we can arm consumers with the information they need to make smart flushing decisions. - Changes to flushing behaviors will free up consumer tax dollars and city resources that are now used to repair wastewater systems damaged by clogs.

We’ve recently released our 2024 Annual Report outlining the local and national efforts we’ve taken over the last year. We accomplished a lot last year including our crimes of flushing investigation with Detective Drains and talking toilet Mel at our VidCon Anaheim activation and collaboration with the Latino Film Institute’s Youth Cinema Project.?? ? We also continued to make inroads with communities across the country reminding them to always look for the symbol and practice responsible flushing.?? ? Read our Annual Report to learn more.??

We sat down with Michigan Water Environment Association’s Cheryl Vosburg to discuss the implications of the recent #Michigan law that took effect this month.? Read our article to learn more about how this law benefits Michigan communities and helps clear confusion for consumers on what items can and cannot be flushed.?
-
Starting February 1, non-flushable wipes sold in #Michigan are required to have a clear “Do Not Flush” designation on the packaging. This includes baby wipes, cleaning or disinfecting wipes, and makeup removal wipes, to name a few. The law does not impact wipes labeled as flushable. This is a huge win for wastewater agencies, the wipes industry, and consumers as we move toward a more sustainable future. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/e2WBZdei
