As the end of 2024 draws near, we reflect on all we’ve done this year and look forward to the new opportunities 2025 will bring. Our Responsible Energy Solutions, LLC team has now completed 34 MiQ - Methane Intelligence certification assessments (12 in 2024) and 17 Equitable Origin EO100TM assessments (4 in 2024). We have assessed operations for 9 producers and 1 midstream operator across 6 basins. In addition, our team has helped clients prepare for certification, developed emissions management and reporting strategies, assisted in technology selection for emissions detection and quantification and developed training for field personnel. This year we also worked with the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce on three USTDA Reverse Trade Missions introducing international companies from Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Nigeria, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and India to advanced methane management technologies across the U.S. It’s been a busy year. The future looks bright for U.S. energy. In 2025 we expect growing demand for natural gas, especially production that has demonstrated achievement of lower emissions. We also anticipate an increased need for independent, third-party certification. Our Founder and President, Roy Hartstein co-hosted a workshop with Teresa Buckingham, CSP, SMS and moderated this panel that included two of our certification clients, Northeast Natural Energy and Expand Energy at the Methane Methane Mitigation Summit Series.
It was a pleasure moderating this panel of experts at the Methane Mitigation Summit Series. BJ Carney, Maggi Young, Michael Rabbani and Calvin Cahill discussed The Certification Advantage, sharing their combined experience with certification under independently verified standards. The process and benefits from their experience provided interesting insights. In addition, the conference provided other takeaways, including: ·??????Broad discussion regarding the future of federal methane regulations under the IRA, particularly the Waste Emissions Charge (WEC), both those believing the rule will continue in the future and those believing it will be modified or eliminated. ·??????Agreement there’s a need for convergence across various approaches to MMRV including how to align efforts under the EUMR, OGMP, MiQ, GTI Veritas, DOE FECM and EEMDL, including a need for third party assurance. ·??????Excellent insights on successful implementation of technology and mitigation approaches from operators including Russ Perry, P.G. of Sequitur Energy Resources and many others. #methane #WEC #emissions #methanemitigationsummit #OGMP #MiQ #EUMR #EEMDL
