We are proud to be in good company, bringing attention to some of the most important issues in family planning and abortion. Our co-authored publication "Rape-related pregnancies in the 14 U.S. states with total abortion bans" is featured on the list of most-talked-about publications of 2024 in the Society of Family Planning round-up. https://lnkd.in/gSBHcRSr

关于我们
Resound Research for Reproductive Health is a multidisciplinary collaborative of social scientists and healthcare professionals. Our team conducts methodologically sound research and evaluation to inform evidence-based and person-centered reproductive healthcare. Our vision at resound is for research that connects our researchers with one another, our partners, and the communities we work in to advance a shared vision of equitable abortion, contraception and pregnancy-related care that is obtainable for all. Initially organized as the Texas Policy Evaluation Project (TxPEP) at The University of Texas at Austin in 2011, we officially transitioned our work to the Tides Center as Resound Research for Reproductive Health in fall 2023.

A new "Viewpoint" from Elizabeth Sepper LLM, Kari White, PhD, MPH, and Anitra Beasley, MD, MPH is now out in?JAMA. On March 22, 2024, in response to calls for clarity to Texas's ambiguous language on medical exceptions to abortion, the Texas Medical Board proposed a new rule. As this Viewpoint in JAMA explains, the Board has not provided clarity to the language that has stymied appropriate clinical care. Its proposed rule, instead, would erect additional hurdles to life- and health-saving abortions. The only meaningful solution is to return the resolution of such critical medical issues to patients and their physicians.

Congratulations, Anna Chatillon--and thank you to the Society of Family Planning for our recent grant award for "Minors’ experiences navigating to out-of-state abortion care." This grant will allow us to investigate minors’ ability to seek, reach, pay for, and engage with abortion care in Southeastern, Midwestern, and Mountain West states. We hope to improve outreach to minors seeking abortion care, inform strategies to reduce travel burdens, and adjust facility practices to better support young people’s care experiences.
