Our team partnered with the Ethiopian Public Health Institute?and local community leaders to prevent a surge in cholera cases during a popular religious holiday, using an approach called Enhanced Situational Awareness (ESA). Monitoring climate, mobility and social events with high outbreak potential—such as mass religious gatherings—enables us to act on those risks early, before an outbreak has a chance to take hold. A global health organization that aims to save 100 million lives from cardiovascular disease and prevent epidemics.
关于我们
Our mission is to save 100 million lives from cardiovascular disease and to prevent epidemics. Resolve to Save Lives helps governments and civil society implement scalable, proven strategies to prevent millions of deaths from cardiovascular disease and epidemics. We focus on accelerating action in low- and middle-income countries through speed, simplicity, and scale. In our first four years, we have worked with countries to help protect millions of people from exposure to artificial trans fat, we've partnered with countries that are treating more than 2 million patients for high blood pressure (also known as hypertension), and have supported more than 20 countries in Africa to improve epidemic preparedness and response.

We’re excited to support this program that’s empowering health professionals to make the case for dedicated preparedness funding.
? Program Spotlight: Prevent Epidemics ? Meet two of our inspiring CSO Budget Advocacy Academy participants— Celeste Diale and Blessing Kumalo from the Lady of Peace Community Foundation in South Africa! ? They are advocating for the creation of a new budget line in the provincial health budget of Gauteng Province, South Africa, to prepare for and adequately respond to epidemics and pandemics. ? The CSO Budget Advocacy Academy is a nine-month program aimed at strengthening CSOs' capacity for epidemic preparedness advocacy and equipping them to navigate the complexities of effective advocacy. ? “So far, the most valuable part of the Academy has been the practical tools and frameworks it provides for advocacy,” says Blessing. “Moreover, the emphasis on tailoring these strategies for different stakeholders makes them highly practical in real-world settings.” ? “I have learned new approaches to media advocacy as it relates to messages to the community and messages to the policy influencers," says Celeste. ? We're excited to see the impact they will make! #10YearsofImpact

Today is #WorldStrokeDay. High salt intake raises blood pressure, the leading risk factor for stroke and heart disease. Increasing access to potassium-enriched, low-sodium salt will save lives.

We’re saddened to hear of the recent death of a US traveler due to suspected Lassa fever contracted in West Africa. Lassa fever is a critical health challenge in the region, but effective public health responses can make all the difference. Earlier this year, we reported on the power of quick action and community engagement in Ghana, where a potential Lassa outbreak was successfully contained. Read more about how this response worked and why it’s crucial to continue supporting these efforts: https://lnkd.in/gZEh3anK

The 7-1-7 target exemplifies how Resolve To Save Lives prototypes country-led solutions to global health challenges and rapidly scales them through partnerships. ? Originally piloted in a few countries, the 7-1-7 approach now serves as the first real-time, start-to-end assessment of how quickly countries detect and contain infectious disease outbreaks. ? Over 20 nations are now already using this approach and sharing best practices via the 7-1-7 Alliance. It has been incorporated in global health guidance and funding mechanisms of global health organizations such as the World Health Organization and The Pandemic Fund and is referenced in the Global Health Security strategy of the United States Government. ? This week in Riyadh, I was honored to welcome the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the newest member of the 7-1-7 Alliance, on behalf of Resolve To Save Lives. Special thanks to Dr Khaled Alabdulkareem (MD, MBA), Dr. Ahmad ALKhorisi, Dr. Sultan Aldahash, and the entire Preventive Health Operations team at the Ministry of Health Saudi Arabia for their leadership and partnership. Senior Vice President for Cardiovascular Health at Resolve to Save Lives. Committed to helping people live longer, healthier lives.
Treatment for hypertension is safe, effective, and costs as little as $5 USD per person each year. Yet 80% of people with this condition don’t have it under control, putting them at risk of heart attack, stroke and premature death. #ActonNCDs?

Together, we can end preventable death from heart disease. Thank you for your support!
Did you know that more than 18 million people die each year from heart attacks and strokes? That's why the work of our grantee Resolve To Save Lives is so critical. They're aiming to save 100 million lives globally by 2050 through these three strategies: 1. Improving control of high blood pressure from 14% to 50% worldwide 2. Reducing salt intake by 30% globally 3. Eliminating trans fat from the global food supply And they're seeing results. Since 2018 they have saved more than 7.5 million lives (and counting!).
