Ivan Rupnik, thanks for the invitation to participate. Excited to be a part of the research, and looking forward to seeing the culmination of the student's work.
Since 2009, I have had the opportunity to work with several generations of architectural students at Northeastern University on the topic of industrialized offsite construction, particularly as it applies to improving the quality, affordability, accessibility, sustainability, and resilience of housing. Thank you, Schuyler Velasco for the excellent write-up on the most recent iteration of this research and pedagogy, thank you Daniel Adams for the opportunity to teach this content, thank you Ryan E. Smith, PhD and Tyler Schmetterer, for the professional collaborations that make this teaching so relevant, thank you Paige Roosa for providing us the context within which we are working and thanks to this year's cohort of graduate students who chose to spend the last year of their studies on this topic. This work would not have been possible without the support of Reframe Systems, RESOLUTION: 4 ARCHITECTURE, CONNECT HOMES and Green Canopy NODE, all of whom provided technical documentation and mentorship to our studio. Finally, while there is a long list of experts that have all informed this continually evolving pedagogy and research, the work of Helena Lidel?w and Patrik Jensen on product platforms and modularization has proven especially invaluable to introducing an AEC-friendly "manufacturing mindset" to architecture students. #northeasternuniversity #CAMD #northeasternuniversityarchitecture #MODX #industrializedconstruction #offsiteconstruction #innovation #housingaffordability https://lnkd.in/dxC5ixUF
