RES is a team of entrepreneurs who transform industries through franchise models, working in partnership with specialists in home elevation and flood-proofing. Their goal: to offer homeowners in coastal areas at high risk of flooding a single source, financially attractive home mitigation service. They plan to elevate and flood-proof homes down the Atlantic seaboard and along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico, offering a menu of home mitigation services along with favorable insurance rates and preferred financing from home equity lenders and Federal, state and local grants. For now, their primary focus is on Florida and Virginia. RES has forged relationships in the insurance, banking and contracting industries to develop financial products and alternative approaches to affordable home elevation and mitigation services. In partnership with AON Risk Solutions, RES has developed a unique approach for its franchising network, replacing existing high-premium flood insurance policies for homes at or below NFIP base flood elevations with alternative policies bearing reduced premiums for elevated homes. Additionally, RES homeowners who take advantage of pre- and post-storm home mitigation services will benefit from RES’s managed process approach to professional sales, operations, marketing, equipment and business systems. An estimated 41 million Americans are already living in high-risk floodplain areas. RES anticipates that home elevation services will soon be incentivized and/or required in many coastal areas. By providing an innovative offering that bundles home elevation with reduced premium flood insurance and affordable financing through a one-source solution, RES’s vision is to transform coastal home elevation and flood mitigation services from a reactive cottage industry into a proactive, preventive, professionally managed business that will protect homes from inevitable coastal flooding.
