How do you prove the ROI of security investments when risk scores don’t translate to dollars? It’s a challenge we hear from CISOs all the time. Without financial context, getting buy-in from CFOs and securing budget for cyber initiatives is an uphill battle. That’s where Resilience’s Loss Exceedance Curve (LEC) changes the game. In a previous webinar, Robert E Mealey and Erica Leise shared their expert insights into how the LEC quantifies cyber risk in financial terms—helping business leaders make smarter, informed decisions. Our favorite part? Watching cybersecurity leaders have that "aha" moment when they realize they finally have the data they need to frame cyber risk in a way that gets CFOs to listen. Instead of relying on heat maps or generic risk ratings, the Resilience LEC provides a financial, data-driven approach to cyber risk, to help business leaders make better decisions: ?? Proves the ROI of security investments – Using real-world claims data and actuarial models, it quantifies how controls like MFA, EDR, or network segmentation reduce financial losses. ?? Supports budget approval – CISOs can frame cyber risk in financial terms, giving CFOs the numbers they need to make better financial decisions. ?? Prioritizes what matters most – Instead of spreading resources thin, companies can focus on the initiatives that have the biggest impact on reducing loss. Thanks to Eric Woelfel for facilitating this important discussion. #CyberRisk #RiskQuantification #CISO #FinancialTranslation?

MFA is essential, but not invincible. MFA bypass attacks are on the rise—and tools like Evilginx are making them easier than ever. So how do security leaders stay ahead? ?? Adopt phishing-resistant authentication ?? Enable risk-based access controls ?? Invest in cyber resilience—not just cybersecurity It's important to remember that security is about layers, not checkboxes. Want to learn more about building resilience against MFA bypass and other emerging threats? Check out our blog post for more insights: https://lnkd.in/gCXknrfm

Strengthening partnerships over great conversations, and even better company. Last week in London, we had the pleasure of hosting a dinner with the WTW Global Cyber Team, bringing together 21 of their Global Cyber Leaders for an evening of connection. As trusted partners, it’s invaluable to exchange insights on the evolving cyber landscape and how we can continue to support businesses in building resilience. Thank you to George Kotsiopoulos and Mario P Vitale for leading the charge and representing Resilience at the table. Looking forward to what’s ahead! #CyberResilience #CyberRisk #CyberInsurance #Partnership

Ransomware isn’t just a direct threat—it’s now an even bigger third-party risk. In 2024, ransomware remained the top driver of material losses in Resilience’s claims portfolio, appearing in 43% of first-party claims. But attackers aren’t stopping there. Vendor-related ransomware incidents accounted for 18% of material losses, pushing total ransomware-related losses to 61% of all incurred claims. The takeaway? Your vendors’ security gaps can become your next breach. Mapping dependencies and strengthening third-party risk management is critical to staying ahead. With DORA now in full effect, financial institutions must go beyond compliance checklists to build true operational resilience. What does that mean? Simon West, Resilience’s Director of Customer Engagement, digs into it in his latest article with Assured Intelligence. He explores how financial institutions are shifting from awareness to action—navigating new requirements, tackling third-party risk, and embedding resilience into their operations. Some of his key takeaways: 1?? Third-party risk is a priority. With 40% of cyber claims in early 2024 tied to vendor breaches, DORA mandates stronger vendor assessments, contract requirements, and continuous monitoring. 2?? Proactivity over reactivity. Firms must implement penetration testing and proactive incident response strategies to stay ahead of evolving threats. 3?? Compliance challenges bring opportunity. While integration may be difficult for some, those who embrace DORA will strengthen cyber resilience, improve risk management, and build stakeholder confidence. Want to learn more? Throwing it back to our amazing all-company offsite from just a month ago! We can hardly believe how quickly the time has passed. ??? Bringing together team members from various departments, it was a time for deep discussions, big-picture vision, and—of course—some fun bonding moments. We took the chance to develop (and strengthen) relationships and spark new ideas over food, drinks, and games. We truly appreciate how these moments continue to fuel the passion and collaboration that drive us forward! ?? #Throwback #Offsite #TeamResilience

Fresh air, fresh powder, and even fresher insights! ????? Last week, we took 30+ of our broker partners to Tahoe for two days of connection, conversation, and a little friendly competition—on the slopes and at the bingo table. Beyond the fun, this trip was about strengthening relationships and reinforcing how we support brokers in helping clients navigate cyber risk. One highlight? A fireside chat that left a lasting impression. Huge thank you to Michael McNerney, Justin Shattuck, and Andrew Bayers for showing up Wednesday night and blowing our broker minds with a conversation on all things cyber resilience. ?? Using a (very real) video of a past skiing mishap, they illustrated how understanding risk can prevent costly missteps—on the mountain and in cyber. Afterward, we swapped ski gear for margaritas and called it a night—before hitting the slopes (or the spa) the next day. Shoutout to Gavin Reed, Alex Carleton, Jeremy Frumkin, and others on the team for hosting such a memorable trip! #CyberBrokers #Retreat #CyberInsurance
