Excited to share that RIFM's Senior Scientists, Holger Moustakas, PhD (right) and Jake Muldoon, Ph.D. (left) will present their latest research on chemical clustering and read-across strategies at the Society of Toxicology (SOT)'s 64th Annual Meeting and ToxExpo in Orlando, Florida, from March 16–20, 2025. Their work focuses on enhancing safety assessments for both discrete chemicals and natural complex substances (NCS). Notably, their pilot study indicates that factors such as plant part and processing method significantly impact an NCS material's composition, suggesting that clustering by genus alone is insufficient. Additionally, Dr. Moustakas will co-chair a workshop on read-across applications, bringing together experts from various sectors to explore its practical use across diverse chemical spaces.
