We are pleased to announce that the Shasta Indian Nation and RES have agreed to jointly restore traditional tribal land slated for return to tribal ownership.?Copco No. 1 Dam and reservoir in far Northern California were built a century ago on land sacred to the Shasta people.?Now that the Klamath River hydroelectric dams have been removed, the formerly inundated areas need to be replanted and restored.?The restoration plan will benefit from the Tribe’s wealth of traditional ecological knowledge, handed down from generation to generation, that is specific to this area. Under the agreement, Tribal members will become part of the restoration team starting immediately, assisting with revegetation, wildlife monitoring, spawning habitat surveys, relocation of juvenile and adult salmonids, fish passage monitoring, water quality sampling, and more. An additional round of seed gathering will be performed to include culturally important plants that were not a part of the restoration plan developed prior to California’s decision to?return land that was taken by force. This new partnership is complementary to RES’ existing partnership with the Yurok Tribe, who will also continue to work on the restoration project. #KlamathRiverRenewal #KlamathRiverRestoration #WeAreRES #Klamath #California #Oregon

Restoring a resilient earth for a modern world
关于我们
As the nation’s largest nature-based solutions company, RES (Resource Environmental Solutions) is restoring a resilient earth for a modern world, project by project. RES creates durable, resilient natural infrastructure for communities through solutions for environmental mitigation, stormwater and water quality, and climate and flooding resilience. RES has a unique operating model for delivering ecological mitigation and restoration projects based on science-led design, integrated delivery, and long-term performance. From headwaters to coastal shores, RES designs, builds, and sustains sites that preserve the environmental balance, lifting impaired ecosystems to restored health and ultimately, self-sufficiency. These projects restore sensitive wetland, prairie, and species habitats as well as floodplains, streams, river valleys, and coastal and tidal systems. The result is nature-based systems that cleanse water, shelter wildlife, buffer storms, and sequester carbon from the atmosphere.

We're proud to have partnered with the University of Richmond to restore a 2,300-foot section of Little Westham Creek, transforming it into a vibrant Eco-Corridor. This once-unused section of campus has become a treasured feature in the community, serving as an educational space and a living lab for hands-on student learning. ? Focused on habitat restoration, we developed an Eco-Corridor Master Plan featuring a trail and green space amenities. Faculty, students, and the local community are embracing the Eco-Corridor for birdwatching, biology fieldwork, and environmental research. ? Want to learn more about how this space benefits education and the community? Check out this recent article from UR Now explaining the project's meaningful impact on the campus. #WeAreRES #nature ? https://lnkd.in/eWBhmN4e

One of the most exciting parts of our work is checking in on project trail cam footage — we never know what we’ll find! This time, our cameras captured a flurry of animal activity at our Pea Hill site in Prince George’s County, MD. The project has had a busy summer, with a heron wading through the restored streams, deer exploring the revitalized habitat, a flock of turkeys strutting through the green space, and even a dove making an appearance. These images remind us that our restoration work isn’t just about stabilizing streams—it’s also about creating thriving habitats for wildlife. #WeAreRES #nature

Exciting news! RES was awarded a USDA Conservation Innovation Grant as part of the Biden-Harris administration’s $90 million investment in innovative conservation projects. Our selected project focuses on a water quality trading program that will demonstrate how a scalable “pay-for-outcomes” program could function. This initiative will evaluate the efficiency of paying for nutrient reduction outcomes compared to traditional practice-based payments while reducing barriers for producers to participate in the program. It will help improve water quality, promote sustainable farming practices, and support climate action.? ? This project would not have been possible without our partnership with the?Environmental Policy Innovation Center,?Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation,?University of Wisconsin-Madison,?and the fantastic work of our team, including?Erin Delawalla, CFM, and Chris Murphy. ? ?? https://lnkd.in/eZR4sq3y ? #WeAreRES #USDA?#waterquality

This new video by Swiftwater Films Inc chronicles the first year of revegetation following the removal of four dams along the Klamath River, part of the world’s largest salmon restoration project. We think director Shane Anderson and his team did a great job of capturing the enormous scale of how RES and the Yurok Tribe took on the first season of planting the vast mud flats, along with what’s next in future planting seasons. #KlamathRiverRenewal #KlamathRiverRestoration #RES #Klamath #California

I am excited to announce that the Babb Creek Mitigation Bank has been approved by the Pennsylvania Interagency Review Team! This Mitigation Bank is enormously important to me since I have been working and managing it with our amazing Resource Environmental Solutions LLC team for over three years! The Bank is located in Charleston Township, Tioga County, PA, and will provide stream and wetland mitigation credits for Pennsylvania State Water Plan Subbasin 09 and all approved secondary service areas. The Bank will incorporate a variety of restoration and enhancement activities which will maximize ecological uplift, while minimizing disturbance and construction impacts to existing resources. Restoration efforts will result in the establishment and preservation of self-sustaining, functional stream, wetland, and riparian areas. For questions on credit availability, please contact Jack Walker at [email protected] #WeAreRES

We are thrilled with the progress of the Mammoth Solar North project in Northwest Indiana. Doral Renewables LLC’s project was honored with the “Dual Use Plan of the Year Award” at the North American Agrivoltaics Award ceremony at the Solar Farm Summit in July. Since 2020, the RES team has been providing performance-based native vegetation management, and we have been actively engaged in construction implementation with SOLV Energy. This project uniquely incorporates livestock grazing as a method for vegetation management. We partnered with Bope Farm Services, LLC, to coordinate grazing activities on site. The site features a mixed herd of sheep, alpacas, donkeys, and livestock guardian dogs. Sheep are used for vegetation management. Alpacas and donkeys manage vegetation and serve as guardian animals, protecting against ground and aerial predators. Livestock guardian dogs are also employed to deter predators on site. Mammoth North Solar is the first phase of the Mammoth Solar project, one of the largest solar projects in the United States. It is estimated to generate 400 megawatts of energy and provide clean energy for 75,0000 households. For more information on the project, please visit: https://lnkd.in/gCbbC4XR

We’re thrilled to share an update on our partnership with Southside ReLeaf and GroundworkRVA to bring more green spaces to Richmond! In a recent article, Southside ReLeaf intern Maya Basnyat used thermal imaging to reveal temperature differences of up to 50 degrees between shaded and unshaded areas in South Richmond. This highlights the urgent need to address the urban heat island effect, particularly in underserved neighborhoods. Working with the City’s Park and Recreation Department, we’re expanding access to nearby green spaces to ensure lasting community impact. Our first project with these partners involves revamping Ernest Road Park—with RES providing technical training and leadership to remove invasive species across 60,000+ square feet of urban forest canopy and plant over 6,000 native forest plants to enrich the ecosystem and create high-quality natural areas for the local community. Stay tuned for more updates, and check out Maya’s full blog post here: https://lnkd.in/gXTGMvJY #WeAreRES #Richmond #trees

Muck-boot thoughts of the day: 1) This water/climate stuff is getting real, man. To those directly affected, my heart hurts for you. It is devastating, such a disruption to life, but you will get through it. Flooding here in PA today, but I think the worst has passed. 2) Many of us are tackling big water and climate issues. The best time to plant a tree was 20 (or 50) years ago; the next best time is now. We’re growing nationwide in ecosystem restoration and need help. We have construction, real estate, legal, project management, business development, EPC, and ecology jobs. It’s rewarding work with a great team. Check out our website for opportunities! 3) Thankful that one of my kids left my muck boots out in the storm, so I can confirm that they are in fact waterproof from the INSIDE as well… ??. Nothing like using a boot for a rain gauge? https://res.us/home/people Resource Environmental Solutions LLC #WeAreRES #ecologyjobs #constructionjobs #pennsylvaniajobs

It was an absolute pleasure working with Josh LaPointe and the Resource Environmental Solutions LLC team on this project. Great attention to detail and vast experience in restoration is what helped bring this project from design to installation. 7 years later and the Envirolok system and vegetation are holding strong! Thank you to some amazing installers!
Check this out! When Eric Seidl joined our team back in 2017, Indian Lake Park was the first Envirolok installation project he provided on-site training and oversite. It was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with the RES team, including @josh.lapointe.391. 7 years later, the shoreline restoration at this popular public beach is vegetated and holding strong! Great job to the RES team! #riverbank #waterways #slopestability #waterway #shorelineprotection #riverrestoration #geobag #mukwanago #Mukwanago
