QUICK TIP: JOB SEARCH I get asked everyday “what’s the best approach to getting a medical sales job”? While it’s always necessary to apply to jobs you find online through LinkedIn or company websites—it’s not enough. The best way is to combine it with reaching out to employees at that company who can refer you too. This works both for the candidate and the employee. First, the candidate gets a higher priority than a typical applicant placed online since it came from an “employee referral”. Second, most companies will incentivize the employee with some sort of a “referral bonus”. RESUME TIP: LET YOUR RESUME DO THE TALKING I receive 100s of resumes a day and consistently get well-written descriptive emails explaining the candidates track record. I think that’s a great approach but too many times the resume doesn’t connect with the description.
