Early Intervention Specialist Deb went to Replay For Kids to pick up toys for CSC's youngest clients at their annual Adapted Toy Giveaway! RePlay For Kids works year-round to increase the availability of toys and assistive devices for children with disabilities. We are so thankful for them and how they serve the Northeast Ohio community!

Empowering Play for All: Replay For Kids Transforms Toys for Children with Disabilities For 25 years, Replay For Kids has been on a mission to make toys accessible for all children. Through dedicated volunteers, they modify off-the-shelf toys, adapting switches and buttons to ensure children with disabilities can enjoy interactive play. Over 22,000 toys modified, free of charge, to allow children with varying abilities to interact with toys. Creative solutions like sip and puff switches, head tilt switches, and proximity switches help children with limited fine motor skills activate toys independently. Natalie Wardega, Director of Operations, shares how the joy of a child activating a toy for the first time is a powerful reminder of the importance of accessibility in everyday life. Our team had an amazing opportunity to volunteer with Replay For Kids. We learned how to adapt a battery-powered automatic card shuffler to work with an external switch, making it easier for children with limited dexterity to enjoy this fun toy. It was a heartwarming experience to know that our efforts will help empower kids by giving them access to activities that bring joy and independence. Thank you to our Facilitators for leading us, volunteering with this organization reminded us how small changes can make a big difference in someone's life. We’re grateful for this chance to contribute and can't wait to do more! #cpafirm#ReplayForKids #GivingBack #CPACares #Teamwork #Inclusion #MakingADifference

It was great partnering with the Cleveland NeuroDesign Entrepreneurs Workshop, where they used our toy adapting workshop as an exercise in problem solving, design, and creativity (and resulting in a bunch of adapted toys for us to donate to children with disabilities). If any other businesses or organizations are interested in holding a toy adapting workshop as a team building exercise or employee volunteer opportunity, just contact us!
The Cleveland NeuroDesign Entrepreneurs Workshop kicked off yesterday, with 32 participants and more than 20 faculty members from near and far converging at Sears think[box] at Case Western Reserve University to learn and practice the biodesign process applied to neuroscience innovations. We're grateful to our Workshop sponsors and faculty for getting this 5th year of the program off to a fun, busy and action-packed start! Pictured, clockwise from left: participants prepare for the Replay For Kids team-building activity developing adaptive toys; executive faculty member Andy Cornwell welcomes attendees to the workshop; teams gather to discuss strategy; executive faculty member Christopher Pulliam, PhD provides an overview of developing need assessments.

Earlier this summer, RePlay was invited to host a workshop at REA Elektronik Inc.! Not only was it incredible to see a group of employees come together to adapt toys but, Replay employees were also able to learn about with REA does! The workshop was spent full of good conversation on the importance of inclusive, adapted play and the positive effects this has on children! Spreading the word and benefits of RePlay is always an amazing experience! If you are interested in learning more we encourage you to reach out!

We have a couple more thank you's for generous donations from the Tom and Jill Lincoln Foundation, and the Crane Charitable Funds through Crane Aerospace & Electronics. Both donations will help support our toy adapting workshops that provide adapted toys and switches to children with disabilities in Northeast Ohio.

The bright and smiley Addison visited Ed and Taylor to get a RePlay Ride-on car at the Creative Space earlier this summer! Mom and Dad were sure to send some pictures to us and let us know that she is absolutely loving her new ride! Addison is just one of many individuals that we get the honor of working with and you could too! Reach out to us via our website, email or comment on this post!
