Last week, Ben Johnson and Chris Chesney paid a visit to our very first asTech Mechanical customer through our NAPA Auto Parts partnership: S&C Body Shop and Auto Repair out it in Garland, Texas!   Incredibly exciting to be bringing our solutions to mechanical repairers like S&C to help them repair more vehicles and keep more services in-house.

We're bringing asTech's leading remote OEM solutions directly to mechanical repairers to help them keep more repairs in-house AND create a more seamless experience for their customers. About 20% of mechanical repairs require an OE diagnostic tool to properly complete the job. But many OE tools require a large upfront investment, costly upkeep, and specialized knowledge, creating barriers for many shop owners. asTech Mechanical solves this issue by enabling shops to remotely connect to OE tools for every major brand, operated by a certified technician, to perform programming, calibrations, and vehicle health checks. We are off and running with day number two at the Best of Belron event!

We’re all about moving our industry forward and creating opportunities for the technicians of the future. As part of our efforts to prepare the next generation of technicians, we have donated $180,000 worth of diagnostic tools to support @Collin College’s Automotive Technology program. This year, we launched the Repairify Institute with the mission to enhance automotive training across our industry. That includes enabling other automotive educators to improve their training as well. This donation provides the opportunity for the Automotive Technology program to expand its current offerings and capabilities through hands-on experience with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools. We'll be doing even more in the future to continue to push education in our industry forward. Both through efforts like these and by providing top-notch training through the Repairify Institute at our Center of Excellence in DFW. Collision shops should expect more from their diagnostic tools than just a pre-scan.   Vehicles are becoming more complex, and shops and other stakeholders involved in the repair process will need to utilize data-driven automotive intelligence and technology for the entire repair planning process.   Our president, Craig Edmonds, sat down with Huw Evans from Autosphere.ca to talk more about this shift based on his extensive experience and his perspective in his new role as the President of asTech.    He also discusses the friction between insurers and repairers and how to keep everyone aligned on the ultimate goal: returning a fully-functional, pre-accident-condition vehicle to the customer.
