Matt Landau is a sage. A sage is a profoundly wise person. I enjoy speaking with Matt, and admire his relentless pursuit to infuse creativity into the anodyne -- especially in the workplace, especially for folks in a leadership role. ?? ?? Coming off Matt's inaugural and extraordinary Here Goes Nothin creative leadership retreat in Costa Rica, I decided my word and intention for 2025 is "connection." ?? ?? To put this intention into action, I've begun scheduling conversations with industry colleagues I admire to better understand why they're passionate about what they do. The conversations are intended to connect 1:1 -- but also an attempt to inspire introspection and creativity. We all have things inside of us worth unlocking; perhaps these conversations will benefit you, too. ?? Open conversations allow our minds to follow thoughts, learn from others' experiences, and understand their motivations. To that end, the video linked below is my mini-Here Goes Nothin. I'm calling the conversation series "Why We Do This" and I have no idea where it will go. But that's the point. ?? https://lnkd.in/gfEbejvA

Rent Responsibly is a community-building and education platform for the short-term rental community.
关于我们
Rent Responsibly is the community building and education platform for local short-term rental alliances and operators. We make it easy for hosts to connect, access resources, and lead successful STR alliances. We achieve this through our alliance management services and our private Rent Responsibly Network Beta (RR Network). Our new community platform, RR Network, allows operators of any size to connect through discussion forums, private groups, and one-to-one messaging. Members can access a centralized calendar of industry events and a robust library of guides, checklists, templates, research reports, and more. Content covers many topics, from marketing to advocacy to sustainability and investing responsibly. STR associations and alliances can leverage the RR Network as a member management software. The platform enables groups to capture and manage membership dues, collect donations, and sell event tickets. Rent Responsibly is organized as a for-profit C-corporation. We focus on a triple-P bottom line, prioritizing people, the planet, and profit equally. For more information about us, visit www.rentresponsibly.org/about

One of the biggest hurdles in STRs today isn’t just regulations or marketing—it’s trust. Guests book with hope, but too often, they check in to find that what they got isn’t quite what they expected. That needs to change. We’ve been asking operators across the country what they believe should be standard in STRs, including a deep research trip to Scottsdale this week. Here’s what we’ve been hearing from Jonathan Wicks, Brindy Bringhurst, John Hildebrand, Linda Curry, Wil Slickers, Ryan Rabideau, Mitch Angle, Nevada Posa, Alexa Nota, David Krauss, Garrett Lowen Dobbs. What do you think should be the norm in STRs??

?? 1 in 10 vacation rental CEOs and founders are women. Last year, we shared this stat, and it became one of our most-read stories of 2024. In honor of International Women’s Month, we’re sharing it again. When Margot Schmorak co-founded Hostfully, she made a point to document her journey—because there just weren’t enough stories about female CEOs in tech. How does the vacation rental industry stack up against Fortune 500 companies when it comes to women in leadership?
