I’ve mentioned I’ll be excitedly attending RenderATL (Render Atlanta), and I will be mentioning it many more times leading up to the conference. What I also want to make sure I mention is how important it is for fellow students to know that we can take up space at conferences, not just industry professionals. We are allowed to be here, too! It’s okay to be intimidated, but don’t let it stop you from putting yourself out there. If there’s a gateway conference for students/individuals intimidated by conferences, let it be a conference like RenderATL (Render Atlanta). The communal nature of this conference creates space to connect with people in very easy, authentic, and natural ways. We’re laughing, we’re learning, we’re experiencing together. It’s such an easy-going, friendly environment. By the way, every conference I’ve attended has been for free or under $100, so don’t let those conference ticket prices scare you either. They can be accessible. I might even write a post breaking down how simple it can be to gain access to experiences like conferences or events that can turn into opportunities…
