DNA Therapeutics: Delivering Next-Generation Medicines
关于我们
RenBio was founded on the principle that the remarkable medical benefits of antibody therapeutics should be available to everyone, and was named one of DARPA’s “Biotech Startups of the Future” one year after opening its operations. The company was co-founded by David D. Ho, MD (Time magazine's "Man of the Year" in 1996 and recipient of the Presidential Citizens Medal) and Yaoxing Huang, PhD, visionary scientists affiliated with the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center and Professors at Columbia University Medical Center. RenBio is backed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, DARPA, and a syndicate of private investors, and is headquartered at the Alexandria Center? for Life Science in New York City.

RenBio is happy to announce the publication of a recent article in Pharmaceutics, “Enhancing In Vivo Electroporation Efficiency Through Hyaluronidase: Insights into Plasmid Distribution and Optimization Strategies." Led by Senior Research Engineer, Debnath Maji,?we take a look into the promising realm of non-viral plasmid?DNA?delivery through?intramuscular?electroporation?(EP)?and?highlight the role of hyaluronidase in enhancing transfection efficiency.?Hyaluronidase has the?ability to?promote?uniform distribution of plasmid DNA within skeletal muscle, and by?leveraging bioimpedance measurements, we decipher changes induced by hyaluronidase treatment, allowing for further optimization of??EP electrical parameters. This work?underscores?hyaluronidase's potential in augmenting in vivo EP efficacy and offers a roadmap for tailored?EP?strategies. Read the full article?here,?https://lnkd.in/ezUETurk!?

RenBio is thrilled to announce that our?most recent review ,?"Delivery of DNA-Based Therapeutics for Treatment of Chronic Diseases,”?is out (https://lnkd.in/e8usgcgs)! Led by Research Associate Carleigh Sussman, it?provides a comprehensive overview of gene therapy's evolution and its pivotal role in modern medicine. It delves into the promise of DNA-based medicines, particularly in managing chronic conditions more effectively. The review explores two key DNA-based gene therapies: adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based gene therapy and plasmid DNA (pDNA)-based gene therapy. It discusses how?both?have shown immense potential in clinical trials, offering robust and durable expression of therapeutic genes with fewer treatments compared to traditional approaches. Moreover, this review sheds light on the use of electroporation (EP) as a method for pDNA delivery. EP has emerged as a promising technique to enhance the efficacy and durability of pDNA-based therapies, paving the way for more efficient treatment strategies for chronic diseases. ?#GeneTherapy #ChronicDiseases #ResearchInnovation
