Last week marked the end of a year-long effort for Opportunity Finance Network to issue a historic $173 million bond to support community lenders in their mission to invest in America’s underserved communities across Florida, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, and Pennsylvania. This bond will facilitate lending for a wide range of impactful projects, including affordable housing, small businesses, commercial real estate, daycare centers, and more. Shepherding this bond issuance from origination, due diligence, underwriting, approvals, and finally closing last week has capped off a year of immense learning and growth for me. I would like to extend my gratitude to Shakeyda Daniels for her exceptional leadership, guidance, and for being the steering-wheel to my accelerator pedal to get this bond across the finish line. RCLF is excited to announce that we are ONE of TEN CDFI's in the nation selected to participate in the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) 2024 Bond Guarantee Program. RCLF will receive a $20 million bond loan as part of a record-breaking $173 million issuance facilitated by Opportunity Finance Network. RCLF will use the $20 million to support its mission of providing affordable housing opportunities, such as new first mortgage programs and increased homebuyer education in Mississippi and Alabama. ??
