From round top windows to curved doors and roof lights, there’s something truly irresistible about curved fenestration design. Our custom bronze manufacturing process lends itself perfectly to the creation of curved bronze structures. Everything we manufacture is small batch, and unlike steel frames, our extruded bronze profiles adapt readily to the complexity of curved shapes. There are two steps in our bronze patination process – the first being immersion patination. The raw bronze extrusions are placed in a chemical bath to kick-start their natural ageing process. The chemical solution can be adjusted to produce specific colors for our charcoal, chestnut and slate finishes – and as you can see, the bronze changes color right before our eyes! After assembly, the bronze is brushed by hand with a patina gel and then rubbed back to deepen the color and emphasize fine details.

When we say our bronze products have a ‘living finish’ what do we mean? The patina finish on our windows and enclosures is kick-started by us in the Renaissance workshop, but it continues for the lifespan of that product. Bronze is often associated with glamor and opulence, but it lends itself beautifully to a more pared-back, industrial vibe too. Here’s a sneak peek of a shower project we worked on recently, featuring a beautiful bronze shower door paired with reclaimed brick-effect tile and some beautiful brass hardware for an understated, utilitarian look.

Bronze has been used throughout human civilisation to make statues, weapons and architectural features – but not all bronze is the same. We use 385 architectural bronze for our extrusions because its composition – with a copper content of between 55 and 65% - makes it ideal for hot forming processes like extrusion, while retaining high machinability. This means we’re able to produce very slender, strong forms with highly refined architectural bevel and cove profiles and precision-machined details including incorporated screw grooves.
